Hi,
I need a videoplayer like Quicktimeplayer but with the possibility to
add an AU-plugin or EQ the sound (needing a lowcut at 150 Hz).
A free player would be nice. Most files are in MP4.

VLC is free, multi platform and reads everything, also have an eq and more

 

Exact, as ovalf says VLC do the job perfectly.

 

I don't know of any video player with AU-plugin support, but:

1. VLC has a built in graphic (or is it graphical?) eq and a compressor.
2. You can use Soundflowerbed(free) to route audio from any videoplayer into any DAW, which lets you use plugins.
3. Lastly, some DAWs have built in video support, which again give you access to plugins.

I personally use option 1 for local video playback and option 2 when streaming videos. I hate how action films have very quiet dialog but overly loud action/foley sounds. Compressor/Limiter!!!!

You can also use any video player and process the system audio with Audio Hijack.

 

jayxflash i think that you have the better solution. It´s very easy and you can bypass the Au is you dont use.
