Usually in Ableton when using a plugin you click on a parameter (in this case the filter cutoff/res) and it automatically opens that parameter in the arrangement track automation window for editing and drawing automation curves, but with Lush it wont do that. The dropdown menu list in Abletons track automation window shows nothing. Does anyone know why or how to fix this? I have tried several methods and looked around in settings but with no success so I am completely stumped now. Surely there must be some simple setting in the synth gui settings to activate this?

You need to setup a host automation map. Right click on the control you want to automate, and select "Enable host automation". It'll then show the parameter ID (as in, is it the 1st control shown to Ableton, or is it the 2nd). Options > MIDI /Automation summary shows all of the active mappings and you can save these mappings from the Options menu too.

Why this? Well, consider how many parameters LuSH has available for automation as it has 8 layers. Some hosts have limits on how many parameters you can automate, though with MIDI mapping you can split these into multiple channels but that's a hassle in some MIDI editors.

 

Ok so I tried all this and it didnt work. But still thanks because it did help me figure it out, sort of.

Right click on the slider does nothing, no selections appear. Options>Parameters>Layer 1>Filters>Cutoff (+resonance etc), then in Abletons little box window I click on "configure", move the slider I want and it now shows up in Ableton. Turn off configure, then back on and do the same with the next parameter and slider and so on. It works, but is tedious to say the least and theres no way I would do that for everything lol. I don't see any "Enable host automation" anywhere in Lush, right clicking, settings, options, nothing

I wonder if v2 is any easier to work with in Ableton 12?
