Have you ever used it before? "Perfectly" is not a word I would pick to describe it. This move smacks of desperation. They are probably losing their asses to their competitors. It was basically free already.

Maybe the word "perfectly was a bit too much", but it was just a way of saying everything is working just fine (at least here in my Studio)

It's their way to attract more people to UA products. Luna was always free, but only UA hardware owners could use it. This seems like a logical move after they made their plugins native. I was kinda expecting it. UA is a company similar to Digidesign... enough said.

How long will we wait for good MIDI support though? Maybe I'm not the target audience though, cause I don't record live instruments at all.

 

Let's not forget the lack of the ability to route multi-channels/multi-outs with virtual instruments/drums.

 

Yeah, such a big thing for me too. I always use multi-outs when I do drums.

I have a feeling they'll come out with LUNA 2 and then say "Upgrade to LUNA 2 for x $". All the biggest features like multi-out and better MIDI will be in that version.

At least this is what happens usually when something is given away for free. They give the old version for free, then release the new one and offer upgrade pricing.

 

Universal Audio has found itself under a big storm, we'll see if it can mend fences with its long-time users. People are literally furious, both for its past pricing policies and for its bundle policies in recent months.

 

Yeah, lol, UA seems to be kinda like the MAGA cult, except UA actually did/does a few things well.

 

I wouldn't even call it free, if they want an email address. Got some spam and the DAW seems redundant to the competition.
