Hello,

I'm looking for a Ring Modulator plugin which is also compatible to Studio One 6 (on Windows 10).

So far I have tried:
SynapseRingMod -> Never showed up in Studio One even though I copied cache, data, datb and dll files inside of my vst2 folder
AkihikoMatsumoto Ring Modulator -> Apparently only compatible to Ableton!?

I found a free one by Kilohearts, but there I have to use some ultra big installer.
Tried to copy the ProgramData files and the ring modulator dll to my vst2 folder,
but also here it did not show up in Studio One.

Any suggestion?
Does not matter if it's VST2 or VST3.

the Moog MF102S plugin ? have you tried that one ?

The ARP2600 has some cool ring modulator in it as well, you can route the audio in it. Korg has a VST version, the Arturia capable of receiving audio.

 

I'm using the ring mod that comes with the kilohearts effects bundle (should be freeware I think). It has some additional features, such as sidechain as modulation source too

Yes, the kilohearts RingMod is free, but as mentioned it requires some 3 gb installer and I've already tried to copy the installed files,
but it didn't start.
So I could not really trick it...

I gave Rings of Saturn and Ringmojo a try.
RoS looks pretty simple, but Ringmojo has a lot of options, so I think this will be my nr 1 RingMod

Side-Chaining sounds interesting, but I guess via Bypass-Automation I should be able to imitate the SC for RoS and Ringmojo.
(More work of course, but if I really see a sense if that, why not?)

Could come as a somewhat of a surprise, but the (fairly underrated) Plug'n'Mix bundle contains a PsychoRing, which is my favorite ringmod plugin.
I use it all the time.

 

No, don't download the full offline package for all their stuff. Just use the default installer (green button) https://kilohearts.com/download - it's 9 MiB and let's you pick what you want to install.
