Guys, I have one software which is for Mac OSX, but there was said on their site something like that "there will be binaries for WIN soon". But this "soon" is many years and don't know how much to wait...
I asked the developer about it, but he said he is not going to do WIN version and it is an open source code which can be used for binary transferring...So I can open it with juce or other compiler/code reader/...
    Software is FREE for download
    Who can transfer binaries guys?

hint: this software is a top quality sample-rate converter for OSX.
goal: WIN version of this software for my studio work.

thanks, but no, FinalCD sharp, dbpoweramp 15, iZotope RX do it better. I don't like the quality of r8brain. I need another one, more "customizable" and with superb quality. Just for alternative tasks))
    Thnx for reply.

It would help if you actually listed the program / site you're talking about.

And isn't the best samplerate-resample algorithm for years SRC (http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/) 'secret rabbit code' :), which is built into any freeware / opensource kind of audio project?

http://sox.sourceforge.net/ < SSRC and SoX are the best free ones. SoX also has mac binaries.

+1 for SoX. Once you have found the right settings, converting 1000s of files is a breeze.
It's also faster than most UI-based sound editors, and for batch SRC including dithering SoX is the only one I use.

It looks like a "simple commandline utility", but a lot of scientific brain power has been put into its algorithms to achieve the best possible sound quality.

There becomes a time when too much is unnecessary. WHen you're doing SRC from x to n khz, it doesn't matter that there is aliasing below -140dB, because you could be converting to 16bit anyway, which has a noise floor of -96dB or -120-120dB depending on how you measure. Even if there is aliasing at say, -60dB, can you hear something 60dB below the main signal? What about in a full mix?

Also, they mention their block algo is better than polyphase. This is academia, in which it's advantageous that you state your solution is best, and only compare it ones which are inferior. Apart from polyphase, there could be other conventional SRC algos.

If you're a noob with buliding, you will most likely run into dependancy & other errors. I have done a bit of programming before, and I am still not able to bulid everything I download.
