Hello Forum,
I am looking for a delay vst with the possibility to set the delay time a little bit "out of time".
Dont know how to explain it right, for example i am mainly using Dubstation 2 as Delay. The Delay is following the tempo of my DAW (what is good) - but I wished there would be a knob to set it a little bit out of the host tempo, if you know what i mean.
Actually I could use any Delay and dont sync it, but what i am looking for is that the DAW tempo is still followed and I just have the possibility to change the tempo of the delay "minimal" with a simple knob or similiar.
Hope you guys got me right, sorry for that strange Thread, but I needed you to ask if there is perhaps a simple solution.

Think Soundtoys Echoboy can do this easily. Maybe stupid question, but did you tried to tempo sync it to note and than see if you change it to ms value it will just leave you there on same value but in ms, than just change few ms from there? You can do that with Valhalla Delay too.

I bought Echoboy a few weeks back but havent had the time to check it out yet. Thanks for the Tipp. Will give it a try.

 

...i think I understand what you mean. So first sync it to the host, then "unlock" it so the value is still there and then change the ms, if I got you right. no havent tried will check if echoboy can do this. as far as i know in dubstation it isnt possible.

To get the exact delay times for all kinds of tempo, measurements (you can type it in) and notes (normal, dotted, triplets) the free Delay Time Calculator may help you (if you're on Windows).

 

Turn "Tempo synch" off

Change the delay time in ms. to fit your goal

 

TURN TEMPOSYNC OFF THEN YOU SHOULD GET ms
