Looking for Audio to MIDI Max For Live or VST

    That is their DAW application, but I do not use it. For audio separation, get the other program they sell called Deep Remix or something which we have for Mac on Sister Site. People mostly just call it RipX anyway. It works great for me because it processes locally, just a little slowly.
    There are plenty of other stem separation options like UVR.

    Once you get files separated out into audio, you can still do a little cleaning of the audio prior to converting it to Midi. I like to use a transient designer to shorten tails between hits, especially hi-hats and other short fast percussive or staccato elements. If you still end up with a bunch of data fragments in the midi, you can add an arpeggiator plugin and crank up the speed before bouncing it in place again and the audio to midi convert will do a better job. There is also NoteGrabber, and a bunch of other options. Many of them are free.
