    Hello people
As I'm an old guy and I used to have a workflow around an old Ensoniq EPS16+, a computer with Voyetra ( just midi recording)and a mixer, and I produced great beats with that, I'm in the search of a PC based comfortable workflow close to that one. I've tried to use Cubase with Kontakt, using my soundcard with Voicemeeter to record what I hear ( music from Internet, from the WMP or whatever is sounding in my PC) trying to emulate the quick method of sampling I used in the past but nothing results comfortable.
I've tried Kontakt and seems cool but really complex. Drop-x is cool too but I still can't add my own samples ( the program refuses to load them ) other samplers like Maschine, etc are pretty slow in give results..I'm losing the inmediacy of that old system I had..
Ok, one solution could be to buy an old EPS16+ and recover this way the method..but I want to work inside the box and no with external hardware. Any help? btw, my idea is to work in the Jdilla style ( as a reference, maybe Tom Misch too) Thanks in advance!

Kontakt isn't a sampler. It's a rompler. You can load samples in it, but you cannot sample.
R2R just released the latest MPC soft. It's actually a good sampler too, if you're oldschool it should be familiar. Geist can also sample.

I still use an Ensoniq Mirage for nostalgic and unique curtis chip filter purposes, so I totally get it. I'm going to second the TAL-Sampler as a software sampler that attempts to keep the old school sound and workflow. Check it out here: https://tal-software.com/products/tal-sampler

    It's a sample player. It's not a ROMpler.

What about Ableton Live's Simpler/Sampler? With a Folder Shortcut in Ableton Live to the app "Piezo"? Then use Piezo to sample the audio.

Thanks a lot for all the comments, I'll try TAL to see what happens, I have Shortcircuit but it's a bit messy, I use Cubase and I don't want to try to learn another software like Ableton, not having enough time lol, would love to, but each time I tried it I returned to Cubase, it's in my comfort zone lol. I don't know if I can put a video here but I'll try to cut a short piece of what I'm looking for and post it.

There is Shortcircuit and Shortcircuit2. Best one, IMHO,is Shortcircuit (v.1.1.2)

    @Noprays
Have you thought about going a completely different route?
If you want the immediacy of using hardware and the straightforward Voyetra sequencer, then an iPad plus something like Nanostudio 2 could be your best and most fun option.
Caustic could be worth a look too, or Beatmaker 3 but that one really needs some patience to learn getting fluent with it.
Sampling with NS2 looks like this:

You can get the latest iPad with 128GB SSD for around $400 plus currently $30 for Nanostudio 2 plus a MIDI interface of your choice, which can be a low-latency Bluetooth plug-in type, and a supported (class compliant) audio interface for recording samples.

Edit: You can dive into the concept for free by downloading Nanostudio 1 for Mac/Windows from
    https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio1/

    or Caustic from
    http://www.singlecellsoftware.com/caustic

I suggest to try these first.

I'll check what version I have, but seems close to the one in the video.

    1000 ways to do it.
Nanostudio 2 with a keyboard connected
Ableton Live with a few keyboard shortcuts so sampling is quick
An elektron Digitakt (my personal choice for what the guy does in the video)
An Akai MPC (whatever model is your favourite)
