I’m making online instruments using tone.js. I want to quantize the recording of what’s been played, but basic music quantizing solutions that simply shift to the nearest gridline sometimes get one note wrong. In those errors, the artist would’ve wanted to shift in the other direction.

Popular DAWs like Logic create the desired effect using advanced quantizing, but I’m having trouble finding an easy-to-implement automated solution that doesn't require me to go through the user interface. Please let me know how I can approach this problem, I want an automated solution that can be used in my website like an API, ideally a solution that doesn’t require me to reinvent to wheel.
