    Hi guys,
I have searched and tested couple of softwares. Microsoft Edge used to read Epub files elegantly but I don't remember which version it was and could not find it. I tried other softwares too but they were quite bad and representing the stuff written in epub ebooks.
Please recommend me something which reads this file format PROPERLY!
    Thanks

If you want it simple, try SumatraPDF.
If you want more options and ton of settings, and a library, and import and export options, and the possibility to strip DRM with external plugins, try Calibre.

Ironically, I was going to post the same thing today.
I have tried a bunch of ePUB readers (I don't need a PDF reader,) but all of them have a ton of annoy features/quirks. Both Sumatra and Calibre, both highly touted online and by people I know, have annoying features, or an annoying lack-there-of (one of many examples, though a big one, is their zoom/enlarge features in both of them, which leaves a *lot to be desired,) that make them annoying to read in, and *savagely frustrating* to use to read sheet music in. I haven't found any that are any better, though. :dunno:
Any help in find a capable reader with a handy zoom feature would be welcomed, over here.

On Windows, I fail to find anything better than Foxit Reader for my PDF or EPUB needs.

    Sumatra PDF: https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/free-pdf-reader.html

    What is Sumatra PDF?
Sumatra PDF is a free PDF, eBook (ePub, Mobi), XPS, DjVu, CHM, Comic Book (CBZ and CBR) reader for Windows.

Sumatra PDF is powerful, small, portable and starts up very fast.

Simplicity of the user interface has a high priority.

I use this one for over 10 years, I never looked back!!!

Like they said Sumatra is the best for what it does but it's true it's limited in functionality.
I used to use Foxit Reader like @phumb-reh , I dropped it after it got a bit bloated, but it's way more advanced tan Sumatra. I suggest to try both on that order.

If you're using Firefox, there are some excellent add-on EPUB readers to choose from. Currently I use EPUBReader, but there are better ones with library functions and all kinds of features. It's just that I'm satisfied with this one. Firefox can also be an excellent PDF reader, although I do use SumatraPDF in Windows for reading PDF and EPUBs.

Yeah, it got a bit puffy some time ago but it's been clawing itself back, I'd recommend to get the portable version from here, which doesn't install the autoupdaters or any other bloatware that was sometimes annoying.

The best advice here, try 'em all and see what sticks.

Sumatra portable user here too, fast for easy reading, at least on a desktop PC. After erasing every trace of Adobe some years ago (was getting heavier from useless crap (to me)), Sumatra was the first reader that felt light & right. I've no experience how it performs on mobile devices since I don't have/need those, other than my good ol' Nokia 8250 since around Y2K, heh. Useful thread, in case need suggestions for more capable programs, thanks!

Have read a few books on Sumatra as well and was ok with it. One other thing that I use sometimes is epubor ultimate converter. It can convert almost every epub (make sure you get the latest version) and even protected azw3 into pdf, which comes in very handy some times.

I use Foxit Reader and in preferences, I turn off many undezired options in the preferences. Sumatra pdf is nice. But i want some basic functions which are not included in satra. And sumatra pdf loads high quality pdf files with images in it. Foxit is snappier.

Perfect for me is something between sumatra and foxit. That's something not present. I use Foxit and it is good.

I have Foxit reader version 9 but it does not read Epub format!
In addition, what I had tried before asking question was Sumatra PDF. Indeed, it does not show the files properly. Specially programming related epub files which contain code or Pictures.

I guessed so. I think the support has been discontinued for epub format? Am I right?
