    Hi everybody,

as always it's good to hear some different opinions about something you wanna buy, BEFORE to do that.

Well i need a good 12ch mixer for live sound. I'm getting deeper in hardware instruments for live gig and need something to "control'em all" (sound as lord of the rings)

I have a Roland TR-8, Arturia Minibrute SE, KORG Volca Bass and an Ephiphone Les Paul to play some guitar riff while jamming..

I would like to spend no more than :excl: 600 euros :excl: for now...

what do you think should i buy and NOT buy (even more important i think) ..

Hi, i work in a live theater for 13 years now and I've worked on various live mixers.
I've worked on midas, yamaha, allen&heath, behringer, soundcraft, dynacord, presonus
brands on various models, and some older mixers. All in all they all get the job done,
it all comes down to personal preference. Currently am working mostly with midas, but
I prefer soundcraft, i dont know why, midas is great but i kinda like to work more on
soundcraft. Ive found few models on sweetwater within your price range that i think
    will get your job done

    Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK
    http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Sig12MT

    Soundcraft MFXi 12
    http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MFXi12

    Soundcraft EFX12
    http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EFX12

Only thing i like more on midas are volume sliders, but its just personal preference.
Compared to soundcraft, midas has heavier volume sliders, i like that, some people
like lighter volume sliders like on soundcraft or allen&heat. But whatever mixer you
choose you wont go wrong. I dont think that etc. yamaha has better sound than mackie
for live performance, or this mixer has better EQ than the other, they all work mostly the same
way if you ask me, just knobs are different :) The only difference i noticed, regarding sound,
was how knobs and sliders behave, for example, -50 to -30 volume range on sliders, that is
going from silence to a low volume (-30), midas has best response, behringer(old series, eurorack)
had worst. What i mean by that is, that, when you pull volume slider up it goes from silent to
medium loud really really fast, and that is a bad thing, while for examp. midas, has very smooth
volume add, fade in to call it like that. But then again, i dont think you will need to worry
about that, because i think, you will only need to set the volume once and then play :)

Dont overthink it much, just find nearest shop then get in there and try out different
mixers that they have there in the shop within your price range, and just pick one :)
Trust me you wont go wrong whatever you choose, just dont forget to get warranty too :)
and make some music that's important! :) Good luck and let us know here what did you get :D

This is the best deal around. Yamaha 01V96i is also a recording board, interface, and controller. Can't beat the price for the features. Discontinued so move fast. I just got mine. :headbang:

BE ADVISED ABOUT THE YAMAHA 01v 96 "sorry for the caps"

Since the mixer is layered you do not have channel meters next to the faders. There is only a master meter!!!

However if you install the yamaha Studio Software you can hook up the 01v 96 to your Desktop ( or laptop) and can see the meters on all channels since the software allows you to see the channels inputs signals.

This is a huge ass fail for the 01v 96i, who on earth decided that you do not need channel meters on a fricken hardware mixer??? LMFAO

This is why I am waiting for the X32 to come down a bit more. For the price the X32 is unmatched.

I mean no meters on channels? This was a very dumb ass idea....no offence.
