I think it has a very special, peculiar sound.

I'm not quite sure, but to me it sounds like a plucked instrument.
Therefore, I first assumed that it is a guitar.

I just hope that someone knows the preset, or possibly one which sounds really very similar.

 

sounds like a mandolin to me. It's not a super rare instrument so there should be plenty kontakt libs around. Here's one:

 

My guess is that it is a "Sitar" preset or patch, but maybe just not a very accurate one. So my guess is that it would be from Swar Systems.

 

I too think it's some kind of Middle or Far Eastern instrument and not a common guitar.

You mean something like a synthesized kalimba or plucked string?

Doesn't sound like an acoustic instrument to me, it's probably a plucked synth preset. Played on a keyboard I think, it has that kind of phrasing. Or played on pads.

 

I think its a loop or a sample, not a guitar or sitar (sitar has too much pitch bends even to emulate it, if there is no pitch bend it will sound lame) though, its something with the usage of hammer, Like a Dulcimer or maybe even a Koto (plucked) (only 10% sure of koto)
