I'm just saying the paper is still the most robust storage medium, I'm not saying it's good for storing everything... although I suppose you could try making records out of paper... and punch cards store fabulously even though they are a bit bulky, it wouldn't take long to take all the world's digital data and put it back on punch cards would it

 

it only works as long as written language survives, which with ai and voice operated software, will probably disappear in our lifetimes for all but the uber elite. Written language was a tool, and a tool of control, as the Guttenberg Bible proved to the priesthood and the parishoners.

well with AI harvesting jobs, it might be a great "make work" project which would actually possibly have some value in the future for real humans...

 

don't make me get the lawyers involved, they'll be interperting and reinterpeting the "meaning" and "intent" and "language" of the original question with sublclauses and briefs for decades. The sun may nova before the question of just what the question actually was, gets solved...

 

for cold backups, I would say refurbished SAS drives (if you have the controller)
