Let's see if this is actually a good or a bad update..
The compressor is wow! anything else??

I came across one thing last night.
I use the alternative save option a lot. And the thing that happens since this update is:

After I successfully save a new alternative, Logic asks me to overwrite the original savefile... ... . ???
So, first time I wasn't paying attention and now my original save is overwritten. :snuffy:

Can you guys confirm this? is it just a setting somewhere?

Any other bugs or strange behaviour can be posted here to >>>>

The knobs in the new "Drum Machine Designer" looks like they were designed in MSPaint  . I don't know how many of you noticed that. It was kinda surprising coming from Apple, a brand known for its fancy visuals and "Retina" enhancements.

I can't use it comfortably. Text is either too big (track name, plugins, ...) or much too small (right click menus).
The "Logic tool" (dropdown => select func => click or cmd+click to access func, is missing at least 2 or 3 direct-access command)
    Sticking to Ableton.

For me is a bad update i'll stick with 10.0.7 wich works like a charm on OSX 10.9.0

for the compressor change is a bad change
i found lpx 10.1 create a little bit of glitch on screen when stressed to much, never had this issue with previous release

you shoud re-edit the vote option and add "i'll stick to lpx 10.0.7 or previous version"

Updated and it looks like it works well, no problems with AU Manager or any oder scans etc.. but just to let you know, "Logic Theme Switcher" is not working with this Update.

    cheers

In the poll receding this discussion, I voted, "Yes, I love itl" because it was the only really positive choice, not because I love the new Logic Pro 10.1.

What I've done is partition the SSD on which my system runs into Mountain Lion and Yosemite OSes (in an essentially read-only function, as SSDs have limited write-cycles and Yosemite does not welcome TRIM to deal with data housekeeping), with the latter on which to run Logic Pro 10.1, as well as to try Yosemite (though LM 10.1 will also run on Mavericks). This will probably result in a gradual "migration" as Yosemite and Logic Pro are progressively improved with updates and other software grows more compatible with Yosemite.

So, Logic 10.1: The interface is a little blander than of the previous 10.0.x, but I had been using a GUI mod for that. I like being unable to un-solo all soloed tracks at once in 10.1. I also like how Yosemite renders the text more readable (esp. in "dark mode"), and the overall GUI reaponse seems faster, though it may be due to less 3-D detail (which is why I can't use Ableton Live's GUI). I am interested in the new version's region-level automations, to avoid having to copy/paste region-specific groups of curves, and also to not have to apply and compensate for track-level automations to compensate for tweaks applied to one region. The new audio content isn't so consequential for me; for example, the Mellotron sounds are nice, but I have M-Tron Pro and a couple other 'tron libraries, so Logic's are narrow and redundant for me - though Logic's are presented with extended ranges well above and below that of the original Mellotron tape banks, which results in sounds both "interesting" and usable. I do like the new AU Manager, for its dark GUI and its ability to sort by type and maker.

The main thing which will decide whether 10.1 is a real "improvement" will be to see whether Logic's Channel EQ, whose GUI seems to not have been re-designed, will still be too much of a CPU-hog to use much. With LP 10.0.x, I had been resorting to using third-party EQs for that reason. This weekend, I'll be trying 10.1 out for real.

I expect for any new version of anything to have bugs in it; it's just rewarding to watch applications grow up.

Hi guys. I think Logic Pro X is using a lot CPU. You need a new mac in order to work with this new update. I have a iMac i3 mid 2010 3.06ghz 12gb ram and Logic is still hungry. :snuffy:

Anybody notice Sausage Factory doesn't work now?

    The validation log now reads:

    > validation result: successfully validated
    > updating properties of AU Sausage Fattener by Dada Life…FAILED!

I tried repairing disk permissions to no avail.

i got a project corrupted by 10.1 (without saving anything). LPX 10.0.7 won't load this project anymore crashing right from the loading while i'm still able to load it in 10.1. So i i had to dig more in LPX 10.1. I like the markers always visible

Guys to get sausage fattener working again in logic x 10.1 , delete the AU plugin, use VSTAU manager (free download) to install an AU wrap of the VST plugin, then use 32 lives to wrap this 32-bit plugin as a 64-bit version. Works perfectly.
