I just submitted the following Logic Pro feature request regarding plugin profiles. If you agree, there's a link below where to copy/paste/submit it. Takes two seconds and it'd be a really great feature.

Request:
The ability to assign third-party audio units into groups, so that only those in the selected group/profile are visible in a given project. When opening the Plug-In Manager, instead of the "Use" checkbox column, I want a new checkbox column to appear with every new group I create, and then tick which group(s) I want to assign each plugin/instrument to.

Uses:
- Plugin profiles for
* different tasks (composition/mixing/speech editing/film).
* different genres (instruments + effects).
* different intentions (experimentation/bare essentials).
- Assign to templates.
- Create favourites.

Benefits:
- Time saving.
- Reduced clutter.
- Reduced choice paralysis.
- Increased focus on task at hand.
- Reduced likelihood of getting sidetracked with unnecessary tweaking.
