I’m really digging Live 10 so far. Not a single crash after a full day of use unlike 9.7.5.

    Pros:
    Groups within groups
Wavetable (negligible CPU hit on my MacBook Pro 2013)
    Echo
    Max4Live, woot!

    Cons:
    The new font
GUI now looks fugly in all themes
File browser enhancements need more work, roll on. 10.0.2

Can’t comment on the audio quality as I mainly do House music. It always sounds crap until it’s properly mastered by an engineer!

Some people were born with a soul of a daw warrior. That's okay. They are fighting for the truth. I think there must be "daw fighter" badge and dedicated sticker pack which will contain such stickers as: "i hear the difference", "engine is my b!tch", "warning, intense loops abusing", "nexus tears", "ableton's scoring enthusiast" etc.

Can anyone tell me if Ableton Live 10 is more CPU friendly compared to Live 9? And also how do 32bit bridged (using Jbridge) plugins work on Live 10? (on a 64 bit Windows 10 PC )

i had fm7 running last night, it was working nicely, fm7 version i have is from summer 2003 and it was working great.

i epends on the plugins you are using and once the indexer has finished, then i think live 10 is lighter on cpu using max4live devices.

maybe somebody can make a dedicated performance test with same plugins and compare both versions.

the only let-down on the trail is that you have to have a permanent internet connection or you cant save anything, not even clips or midi files, they done a proper job there. (if they only would fix bugs so properly )

    hi notremid
    im running an intel i5 -7200 cpu 2.5ghz 16gb 64bit windows 10 256ssd drive
im finding ableton 10 slightly faster running than 9
it starts faster and closes faster than 9
the only thing im finding is wavetable has quite a high cpu ask about 40% with some patches and way up into the 80% cpu usage with other patches
probably similar to the cpu usage serum uses
i can use wavetable but i flatten and freeze the track to free up my cpu
other than that its running really good and seems pretty stable with no crashes so far
im really enjoying all the new features ableton 10 brings to the table and the all new sound content and updates are great
hope this helps all the best

Nobody in his right mind would do such a thing with ableton live.
That's completely out of the focus of what live was designed for.

Jesus Christ you're delusional, it's not 2004 anymore. You can't back anything you say up with facts or research like I did proving you wrong which you ignored so take your bullshit elsewhere and get with the times

Not at all true I know of many different people that use Ableton to compose and mix orchestral scores, although the clear favourite is logic and a little cubase, Ableton is still used for this task. Take Daniel James for example, won various awards with scores written and mixed and in Ableton live

Ugh come on, you use Logic or Studio One, and maybe that outdated Steinberg DAW for this.

Yes I'd say Logic and Cubase are best options but you will find any and every daw being used somewhere

Love Live. Thinks it's the best DAW for drafting up music. It's the fastest, regardless of short cuts and hot keys. HOWEVER, it's STILL $800 for the Suite. There's nothing that can justify that price point these days. It costs up to 4x more than its close competitors.

Hopefully, a price reduction is in 10.0.2.

the wavetable synth has cpu spikes, it was also noticed in the beta testing, so it maybe no alternative to Serum i think (if you own it), it closes faster and opens faster up, max4live uses less cpu and feel more stable (only tested with the ableton devices no 3rd party).

i know people who use it for that, but only do small clips in it, so like 20 minutes max.

on mac i can tell you that the maschine within live 10 performance exciting good, while in 9 it blew up after a few patterns going , now i can stack and stack like i do in any other daw. also omnisphere is doing much better in grannual mode, so i assume the fixed a memory leak that plagued Live 9

i have 28 live packs for suite now, but i think there are more, can somebody of the legal owners conform this?

more live 10 skins would be nice, looking for dark ones.
