been playing with the demo, looks nicer, drum buss is kool, nothing groundbreaking in my opinion, will dig deeper, like the colors and favourites tabs, and not alot else really, for an update thats been over 4 years coming i think ableton could have done more with this update, then maybe i am expecting too much.

If you use Ableton as a primary DAW and haven't purchased it you need re-evaluate your life, I hope R2R will wait for at least a month once the trial for most people is over as that seems fair if someone wanted to evaluate it further since theres a lot to cover now but the whole point in wares is to try before you buy without time or other restrictions. If you use certain wares regularly with no intention of buying them then you are scum

The big gainers in this update are for me : multiclip view, the midi capture , mid note midi triggers, and the new Utility comes in handy with the bass mono function . It is not that Live made it a huge huge huge update , but don't forget they didn't stand still the last 4 years and what is already an amazing complete DAW is just made more amazing . if only slightly but believe me the new add-ons will not let you go back to 9

edit: i forgot to mention the integration of Max for live!!!!

this is the point where I always go back to FL

"How do I cut a midi note in half?"
Hey, unfortunately, in Ableton, as far as I have tried doing this, there is no way to cut a note in half. - https://www.ableton.com/answers/how-do-i-cut-a-midi-note-in-half

:bleh: ( Bitwig has the same issue: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=259&t=499400&sid=afb238cec5ba5c87327da3e1fcf11991 a proper PR is still the most request feature of it)

both DAWs are simply too sample manipulation based (at least for me)

ok the my biggest issue ofc. not cutting the notes, but the hardcoded MIDI Channel number (1) in the inner routing of both DAWs, so Expression / Keyswitch Mapping, features like

is not possible in AL/BWS, MIDI orchestration is out of their scope

not true :) first of all , those things are handled by kontakt so no need for that. you would be the first guy that uses FL studio as a serious scoring tool..... > for scoring go Cubase or maybe logic...... FL studio is great on its own but it will never and it has never (since the 90's) appeal to me

I am really looking forward to Wavetable, Nest Grouping function and Max4Live integration. I'm already envisioning ways to create multiple songs in one project with the Nest Grouping.
