Hi,

there's a little problem with one particular preset in EchoBoy.

When I load it - FL crashes, and not just FL but every other DAW.
I found old version of the preset in the net and compared in notepad++ - some weird characters are present.
(vs v3 version)

Compared in hex editor and I see lots of FF (empty) values that make it crippled. But I'm sure it's not only that, because if I remove them all, it still is different.

Can someone share the latest version of the preset? I hope if the team release any future updates to have this fixed. I think I saw other presets like that, who crash the DAWs.

The original preset doesn't crash in Ableton. It works just fine in 64 Bit with Win7.

 

Strange, it crashed Studio One, Adobe Audition and FL for me. Maybe you're trying the wrong one?
Or it is loading the name (from filename), but preset parameters not set.

 

Neither. It's operating the correct preset with the correct parameters.

Yes but that's not the problem. Comparing to all other presets, none looks like this. It was just corrupted and no way my PC can do that. I'm sure all of you have 1:1 exact same preset (corrupted).

 

upload the preset in zippy.

I also re-installed all presets to confirm it's corrupted in the installer.
Again same result, different file than normal.

Something not right by you. Soundtoys fail to read corrupted presets, only their filenames.



Edit: The other possibility, if you had previously installed their plugins, preset might be untouched and kept from your previous installation. But I'm sure that's not the case. Installer is smart enough and will overwrite it all, unless it was open in your notepad or somewhere else.

ummm...yes, that IS the problem. I asked because I had a hunch you were running 10, only people whove had problems are running 10. Run in windows 8 compatibility, it then works. We've had so many threads and discussions about these plugins not working, all of which those complaints were from windows 10 users, like you. Maybe you gotta use the search function

it's not about compatibility mode at all. This is fix for Softube plugins crashing.

PLUGIN itself works perfect, but refuses to read corrupted preset. I get popup that cannot read it because it's corrupted, before the crash.

i tested it and had the same error with the warmcrispy preset in echoboy.

I DONT HAVE WIN 10!!!!
my setup is
Win 7 Sp1 x64
Cubase Pro 8.0.35 x64

Plugins as x64 bit version.

After your file what you posted it loads the preset correctly without crashreport inside cubase!

Windows 10 was NOT the problem in this particular case.
It has been with other issues, yes... but not here.
The preset threw an access violation and crashed Pro Tools on Windows 7 SP1 64bit.
The preset uploaded by the OP functions as it should.
He/She should be thanked for pointing out the problem and taking the time to help others out instead of being attacked.

No problem. I only wanted to know why it was crashing every time I was trying presets. Figured it out. Glad I helped at least someone.

Something not right by me? I have not had a single crash. Whilst your fix works for you and others that's fine but I wont alter something that is working fine here. I have hardware reverb and digital delays. Believe me if a preset isn't working I would know about it.

 

I didn't ask you to alter it. Just provide the preset you have so I can see if it's the right one or not.

Like I said, it's possible to have it from previous installation. But if you use this release - everyone has the crash.

That's why I wanted to see your file in the first place.

indeed, the preset file is (was) corrupted... it would not crash cubase 8, but it couldn`t load the preset
