Hi guys, this is my first post here so, here's hoping I do it right

Anyway i've been trying to figure out how to re-create the sort of sub bass that is in this track from around 1:28

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDlZA1LHtSM

It sounds simple enough but no matter what I try I just can't seem to get the same fullness and depth, so I was wondering if any of you guys would be kind enough to give me some tips?? :)

Sounds more like a Reese to me, rather than an out and out Sub bass. Sub Focus did a tutorial on this kind of sound. It's on YouTube somewhere. He uses some odd waveforms in Massive and messes with the WT position and intensity to get it nice and low and warbly. Personally, I use a standard Reese made of detuned saws, some LFO automation on a notch filter and then low-pass the whole thing to get rid of the highs and upper mids. You could always high pass it too and have a clean sub underneath, but sounds like these generally have enough sub present. All depends on the mix, I guess. The patch in the tune you've given sounds like it has a fairly fast LFO on the amplitude of one of the oscillators to me, but then again it could be artifacts created by the waveforms or detuning. Hard to tell whilst it's "in the mix". Low-passing detuned saws with other notch and low-pass filtering going on beforehand sounds similar though, and yeah, maybe a clean sine sub underneath. :)
