They made some really great products, like RM IV and III. I'm sad to see them go. Although at the same time their software was a bit on the buggier side. Kinda like FXpansion. Great sounding stuff, but the crashes can make your life really miserable, so you learn to avoid.

I corresponded quite a bit with Peter. He's a fantastic person. It seems he's moving into other creative ventures. I wish him all the best. He will be missed in the plugin world. He and his team created some cool stuff.

Octopus is one of the best additive/FM synths out there. It also imports microtonal files, something that others do not have as feature....
Albino and Alpha are also decent synths. I don't know about the rest of the stuff.
Well, I hope that the guy is OK.
Even hardware synths will be gone at some point. At least we can "forever" use the software synths (I've found that even the oldest vsts work on Windows 10, but I guess MAC users can't say the same thing about their stuff).

I used to buy a bunch of plugins untill i bought NI Battery, a few weeks later when a new version was released i didn't get an update. That pissed me off. I figured if i had to pay so much for a piece of code (air), i'd rather buy hardware stuff and have something physical to weep over, or ... 'try it' first ;) before purchasing (very low cashflow problems here, like many i suppose) It also seems some plugins popping up in AudioZ perform a lot better than the official ones you buy! Because all security and checking is stripped it doesn't kill CPU that much.
You could almost say, buy the official and then install a 'k-ed one for performance issues.

However, i do think one should eventually buy plugins you use all the time and love, (or when you use them to make some actual money), to show appreciation and help support the developers, as for them not to end up like LinPlug for instance.

I remember making a track with a demo version of Albino1 from a CM cover disk, plugin got lost over time through updating hardware and i could never get it back and open up this sad old project of mine. I also loved RMIV before Battery, made my own EZX before Toontrack even saw the light of day (layering a recorded drumkit in RMIV which actually sounded pretty damn awesome because it wasn't too perfect as to having some 'edge') and sometimes when opening old sad projects i get reminded when a kit fails to load and asks for RMIV...

    Thanks LinPlug, and take care!

Saxlab was one of the best sounding and innovative brass plugin when it came out. Especially the small size and playablity/modulation, even with the wind controller.

You actuall buy the time a developer spends on creating that code.
Developing can be a very tedious and time intensive thing.
You know developers also need to pay bills and buy food some time.

Until something went wrong and you need to send it back so that companies need to repair it.
Years ago i had to send back my Roland MV8000 since it fader went mad. Short time later they were broken again. Looks like the faders were just a design flaw which cant be just updated :)
Or its firmware is buggy. Hardware is great but it is not always better than just continious evolving software.

Nowadays before I buy software I first write the support and ask some things to see how they react.
It can be a great indicator how good theit support is.
