In Kontakt 6.7.1, some libraries were not found. I made nicnt files and added the libraries with the tools that come with bobdule. It says they were successfully added, but they were still not showing up after reopening Kontakt.

I've compared XML files with the working libraries, and the ones that don't work don't have UPID. Would that be the reason?

    Thanks.

UPID are only used for official products. it is the factory identifier.

the not showing one's are generally allready taken SNPID number, if 2 libraries use the same, only one will be showing in kontakt.
to check this you can use the SNPID Lister

home made must use unused 3digit numbers/letters to not break the official list. or become conflictual.

Wow, thank you very much bobdule!

I followed everything but still didn't work. Then, I downloaded a new library and followed the steps again, and that one did work!

The only difference I can think of is SNPID number. I put a higher number starting with 9xx. Or I might have not run Library Tools with administrator rights earlier.

Now, I'm trying to make the nicnt files for the failed ones again, but it doesn't let me because it cannot write to the registry key.

Do I need to do anything besides deleting nicnt files in the library folder and XML files in Service Center folder?

    Thanks again!

you can delete wrong xml in service center.
edit the nicnt with a good SNPID, it can be done with a text editor if not destructive (edit plus or notepad++)
add again. you can also re add directlly, it will overwrite the older xml.
the last install take the average in case of conflict, one appears and the other one disapears.

I pressed the ignore and continue when it says it cannot write to the registry key, and it worked. The libraries are shown after adding them.

    Thank you very much!
