Which one's do you map to your midi controller for performance purposes?

To rephrase the question, I have 8 knobs available and I was wondering which parameters are the most useful to map if we use Diva synth as an example. What would your 8 choices be?

that ain't the problem, it's the tittle

Obviously the Filter and Resonance most of the time. Normally I'll only map the things I want to manually automate, 90% of the time I don't manually automate though, just pencil tool em down.

Lately I don't have to do that since using Cubase all the important parameters already mapped to the Quick Control and automatically mapped to my MIDI controller.

If you asking for anything to map to become useful, I'd suggest map the Macro. Presets usually already have important parameters mapped to the Macro for fast tweaking. Not for Diva, but Analog Lab, Serum, Massive etc.

    In order :
    Cutoff and Resonance
    Portamento
Attack and Release (or the whole ADSR)
    Effects (Delay ...)

In some synths (like Sytrus), there already an XY expression pad : map it first
some other synths (like Analog Lab) already have 8 expressions mapped

Use "quick controls" or equivalent (like 8 "best of" parameters on Ableton) to avoid mapping each time

I knew that this thread could be very different depending on where the op was from. Same with "let's talk about fannies"

It depends on the synth/patch. Often cutoff/resonance, but might as well be noise, adsr envelopes, fx, and so on..

Here is a small sample pool. Showing you too many, may have made you ill (if not already). There are many more from different nations they all have one thing in common, greed. These creatures have many other names apart from knobs, including scum, slime and vermin. You should avoid touching these knobs at all cost as it may distort your
    mix world.
