According to Pro-Tools-Expert there are at least 7 pieces of software to wrap AU/ VST plugins into AAX format and use them in Pro Tools 11. These include:
    - VEP5
    - Native Instruments Machine
    - Nomad factory Magma
    - REAPER
    - Plogue Bidule
    - VST Lord
    - FXpansion

Now I simply want to use Guitar Rig 5, EzDrummer 2 and Kontakt 5 plugins in Pro Tools 11 without having to repurchase their AAX versions. Is there any particular wrapper I would need for this? Do I need more than one? What other wrappers have you guys tried?

Technically speaking, there's no wrapping for the AAX plugin format anymore. Avid closed that door upon release of PT11. What's there is a container that holds any 64 bit VST or AU plugin. You load the container plugin and inside it you load your favorite VST/AU plugin. IMO, the best of such plugins is Blu Cat Patchwork, really worth it.

VST Lord works with Kontakt 5 and EzDrummer 2 but no luck with Guitar Rig 5 as it throws the error: "There was an error opening the VST Plugin. You need to choose a VST synth first".

Blue Cat Audio's Patchwork is works with Kontakt 5, EzDrummer 2 and Guitar Rig 5 AAX plugins. I just installed the Patchwork AAX plugin rather than installing the standalone application. What a great piece of software!

DDMf Metaplugin and Patchwork are both great and work with everything, so long as it's 64-bit (32-bit AU or VST plugs require an actual 64-bit wrapper before loading up in Metaplugin or Patchwork. I use 32Lives). And I just realized -- or maybe this has only been a thing since v1.75 -- that Patchwork has a pulldown preset menu, and one of the presets is "Wrapper". Select this, and it strips away all the unnecessary bullshit (the mixer, the rack, the patchbay) and leaves you with a very basic slot to load up a single VI or plug. That definitely helps with CPU issues.
