Let's Argue! Synth snobs care more about where a sound comes from, than the actual sonic qualities..

    ewun - hate machine

as long as it is used well it doesnt matter what the sound is :D

Can you elaborate on it? I have read like 5 times what you stated trying to comprehended and I can't. You said the synth is not the only thing that is important to the sound but then mentioned that you need your "algorithm[] generated phrases" to come from analog hardware too and link to a device that does not even work. This makes it even harder to understand the connection among all of what you said and referred to. In other words, if the Electronium is not even working how can it be important to your sound or my sound?:dunno: Indeed, the "algorithm[] generated phrases" you linked to come from already available sounds. The Electronium, like a software AI Composer, is limited to the source of the sound. On the other hand, a AI sound Generator like the NSynth Super can make sounds with machine learning. https://nsynthsuper.withgoogle.com/

I was saying that tongue-in-cheek, referring to those who insist on an "all analog" signal path as automatically better.

Thanks for replying bro. :bow:You are right there is not such a thing "automatically better" for everyone. As I said, it is subjective. Some people prefer one sound over another. And some projects lead you to chose specific sounds, regardless of whether they are analog or digital.

I like analog or hardware maybe more, because I like when it's more haptic, it makes my thinking more creative than plugins. At least for guitar, amps, pedals ect. Never had an analog hardware synth, but I want to buy one in the next 1-2 months to see if it's the same as guitars for me. But I don't think that analog sound is automatically better, it's just different. I really want a Virus Ti, but it's pure digital, just because I can touch it.

i agree, which is why i use controllers in conjunction with plugins to get the best usability combined with almost the best playability (although MIDI controllers are about to get a whole lot more powrful, i thin ksoon the playability will be better).
