Ok trying to understand what you mean. I thought this bass plugin that is pretty new was made for Kontakt so let me try this suggestion you made and see if it works. do yo mean FIle in Library mangeer or in Kontakt Portable VST?

Edit: I tried your suggestion and when I select the nki it says it cannot open becasue it belongs to a library that has not been installed

 

Then, in most cases, the pack that you got is probably incomplete/faulty and I can't help you further. Maybe, if you can you tell me the name of the library.

That doesn't mean anything. Some developers never make libraries, only instruments.. like 8DIO. Even the newest stuff they put out is NOT a form of a library.

You need "add library".



Do you have this button in your Kontakt? (under tab titles, at "libraries tab)
If yes, click it and choose main library folder (where nicnt file).

If no - you need "Add Library.exe" or old version of Kontakt that have this function.

I'm on mac and I don't how "add library" function implemented in new windows versions.

 

I have kontakt portable and typically add libraries with the library manager exe

 

DjinnBass requires Kontakt 6.2.1 or later. You can add this library with old version of Kontakt, but you need Kontakt v6.2.1 (or later) to use this library.

I don't know what is "library manager exe" and how this working on windows.

Tell which version of kontakt you use, attach screenshots or... With current info it very hard to help you.

It is kinda f*cked up how they removed the add library function I install libraries on my legit kontakt by quick loading and by adding them in a folder which is added by native access. So in my kontakt factory library selection i have an extra folder and I drop all the libraries in there. So in Kontakt I go on that factory library and just navigate into the custom folder I made.

 

You will see the version if you press the NI logo (upper right corner). You MUST have the latest version (621), like Talula said. You should check the devs site for requirements. (And yes, it is a library as it works with Kontakt Player)

On Windows you only need the latest portable, go to Libraries, press the Manage Libraries button - the Library Manager will open. Press on ADD, browse for the folder and try if it finds the library. If it does, don't forget to press SAVE. Then close Kontakt and reopen it. You don't need any other program.

What files are in the bass library folder root? As bobdule noted, .nicnt file is not the only way the libraries are set up, so it is possible not being there (although rare with recent ones). A library can have a .nkr, .nkx (protected monolith) + two .nkc "pointers" structure, and it will register just fine..

 

With legit version you can add library if it was registered in your account early. Open "Not installed" tab, if library can be installed with native access you can choose from 2 installation options - "download" (press "install" button) and "add library" (magnifier button, to the left of "install" button), other libraries have only "add library" button.

 

I appreciate you telling me this. I did not know that. But most libraries I own are 3rd party and don't come with a serial for native access.

 

This libraries working only with FULL version of Kontakt and these libraries cannot be added to libraries tab. But people generating their own nicnt files to add them in libraries tab, but this is not official way.

 

ok so I got the kontakt portable 6.2.1 and it did not recognize the djinnbass library.

In the djinnbass folder structure there is a Instruments Samples and Snapshots folder.
In the instruments folder is one nki file
In the Samples folder are nkc and nkx Foles
In the Snapshots folder are nksn files

between <SNPID> and </SNPID> you will see 3 symbols, something like W88 or 123
