legit installers and purchased products

    I have a question pertaining to legit installations and products I purchased. Ok, so I'm not able to connect to UA Connect or Softube central. However, I tested other connection hub apps and I have no problem with any of those, IK media, UJAM, LANDR, Crow Hill, 8Dio etc. all work fine. I purchased products from UAD and I registered my account on their website like I was asked etc. Now it says to login to UA connect to recieve my products and it won't connect. I have a free gift on Softube I can't login to claim either. Could it be that other softwaare from the sister site is preventing these connections? How would I fix this if so?

    Try a different browser - Firefox or Opera is very good.
    You have security settings set somewhere that are preventing it from connecting.

    It has nothing to do with your installed plugins. UA Connect works fine for me!

    Thanks, yea I'm using chrome I reckon something is stopping the connection

    After that, you only need the "UA Connect" software to update or perform updates!
    This means you no longer have to log in with iLok.

    I wish I'd known that the first time lol, I was reading and it mentioned iLok so I'm like maybe I need to be logged in. It worked for both softube and UA:wink:

    When I bought my first Universal audio VSTi, the Opal Synth, I had no idea what to do, so I installed Connect and then I stood there like an idiot, after the third attempt it worked, I could see myself being stuck on the support hotline for weeks, I'd say it's all a real imposition from the companies, there's no other way and in the end it works. It's very stressful for me and I think other users feel the same.

    :rofl: I was like wtf, this makes no sense. My Sonnox plugs won't work if I'm not signed into iLok either.. shits weird

    Actually, you only have to be online once to register.

    Do you have the latest iLok version and have you run the maintenance switch there? It doesn't seem to have completed properly.

    Sure they do. You probably have something blocked by firewall that you shouldn't. Or something like that. I use my sonnox plugins for months without signing into my iLok. Same as UVI.

    is that normal? I tried to load claro and it gave a weird error message, I logged into iLok and it works. It says that the pace software to authorize is not running

    Activate your licence

    Once you've deposited your licence to your iLok account, you need to activate the licence from within the iLok Licence Manager application.


    • We recommend running the latest version of the iLok Licence Manager to ensure the activation experience is not disrupted by the behaviour of old iLok drivers. Please check this before proceeding any further in the 'About' section.

    Your new licences will be listed in bold under the Available tab. To activate them, you can:

    1. Drag the licence to the desired iLok device in the left panel, OR...
    2. Select the licence and click Show Details. On the right-hand side of the pull-up box, click on ✓ Activate, OR...
    3. Right-click on the licence and click Activate in the drop-down menu that appears.

    4. Please ensure you have a valid authorisation location for your licence. You will not be able to activate your new licence to an invalid location. For more information about authorisation locations please read Which locations can I use for my Sonnox licence?

      For specific instructions for authorising your plug-ins to the Cloud, please read this article.
    Your licence is now activated! Once you've installed your plug-in you'll be ready to go.


    Please bare in mind, if you have not used the iLok Cloud before, you will have to open it for the first time before it becomes an available location. To do this, go to [File > Open Your Cloud Session] in the iLok Licence Manager.

    I'm guessing in order to use these plugs I have to be logged in to the iLok app.

    Their software is not just their Manager application. It probably has underlying files and services too. I'm not on Windows. Everything you have on your iLok (web) should do the same things, whatever that may entail. But it is not just Sonnox. If you said Softube, i'd be more likely to agree with you about it.

    yea for some reason it's those 3 plugins, maybe I have to put them in the cloud?
