So, have you watched the Leaving Neverland documentary?

What's your opinion about it?

I've only watched the first episode and I must say it's quite disturbing, unfortunately.

Anyway, if you believe in the documentary, will you stop listening to MJ?

I'm really interested to read your opinions.

No, but if you read around, it seems fairly clear that the two people are lying, their testimonies constantly change, and they only changed their tune after MJ died and they needed the money - before that, they always claimed nothing bad ever happened.

Basically, it seems they are far more likely to be in it for the cash, than any "telling the truth" motivation, and from what I've read, I don't have any inclination to believe anything they say, nor watch the doc...

 

I`ve had my suspicions as everyone else.. But this documentary unfold a lot of details that serious fuck me me up.. I loved MJ music but now i don`t know how to feel about it as it reveals his dark side.. man i wish that all of this pedofile stuff wasn`t real but its hard to believe that wasn`t.. And even if you are the biggest star on the planet does not make it right doing this things to a 7 and 9 years old boys.. Damn this fucked up world..

 

I watched it (both parts). I thought he was a pedophile back then, even though he was not sentenced. Too many people putting info into light, too many things not adding up and overall weird behaviour. I haven't actively listened to his stuff since. He was a brilliant songwriter, artist, singer and performer...but also a broken soul who never experienced childhood and was subject to abuse from his father. I think he also was a pedophile.

I watched it last night. Creepy guy and stupid parents. His sister LaToya called him out and most did not believe her. Michael was an evil manipulative wizard.

Dude they are showing a video message from Michael where he is saying "Hey Little One ... bla bla bla...I love you".
Michael called the guy "little one".
He was a sexual predator.

This is, of course, a reasonable point of view, but I also can imagine many reasons why someone wouldn't want to admit being repeatedly sexually abused, specially by someone as famous and powerful as MJ...

This is not a normal abuse case, where just a few people would pay attention to if one goes to the authorities...It's likely literally opening your most personal and painful traumas to the whole world, literally...

Also, if they had gone to the authorities back then when Michael was alive, the chances are really huge that he would crush them with all his money and power...

Anyway, if it really is about money, wouldn't it probably be way more lucrative if they had sued him while he was alive? I mean, this documentary certainly wont make them as rich as if they had sued him back then...Not even close...If I'm not mistaken, there was a similar case where a family settled for a 23 million dollar deal with MJ back then...

I admit that there's a chance that you're right, but by all means, this isn't a simplistic scenario.

This is the creepiest part I've watched so far...The way he talks and acts is totally weird and inappropriate...And the faxes...Really creepy.

A grown up man acting like that to a child would never be socially accepted unless he's a super-mega-star like Michael was.

Besides his art, which is obviously great, he was incredibly weird as a person, in the wrong way.

As they say "trace the money". I don't think he was a pedo. I think it's in someone's interest to taint MJ's name. So who's benefiting?

And I don't particularly like his music. I used to like a couple of his songs when I was a kid.

Of course. I'm not saying it wasn't possible - I'm just saying, from what I've read around on these two guys, it doesn't lead me to believe their claims. The doc of course is told from their point of view so is heavily biased, but also, it's not intended to be anything else but an account of their claims.

Sure, I understand. I just don't find those guys credible to give much weight to their words...

It seems fairly clear that MJ was not like us regular "normal" folks - how could you be with a life like that. All of these superstars live in a world far removed from most of ours. And of course, there have been reports of questionable behaviour from a long time, and certainly enough to be suspicious. I haven't made up my mind about what I believe regarding MJ, but those two guys and this doc are very unlikely to convince me any one way.

 

I will not watch it.

MJ was part of my youth and erasing him because of what he probably did would equate to erase some parts of my life.

Fortunately I don't know how long I will live but I prefer to spend what remains of my life with as much memories as possible. MJ was for me associated to many (good) memories.

 

How can we define a "normal" person?
If you answer "It's someone who thinks and acts like the vast majority of people", then I bless god to be a true mental ill, and I would be quite unable to name even one great artist (I mean REALLY GREAT) who is or was "normal" accordingly to that definition.

I have no opinion about MJ except it was a sort of genius - undoubtedly a great artist and an outstanding performer.
And whatever he may have done, I will continue to listen to his music with the same great pleasure than I listen to Wagner... as the Jew I am.

Isn't it insane what some people will do to make money...or some people will believe when they do?!

Bit naive i think...i mean just look what the guy did to himself or remember him holding his kid over the balcony? Then again he might indeed be innocent. I don't really give a flying fuck even though i love many MJ songs.
