for my taste the guitar takes up to much space that the voice could/should use?
may try EQ somewhere in the lower mid's

something about that guitar sound is "strange" but i cannot identify it, sides?

the beat should punch a bit more through, rest sounds ok to me.

    just my 2 cents ;)

oushit now you made a 180° turn
it really sounds way to narrow now
other things improved, the guitar is not all over the place and in some parts it fits just perfectly

it was just too much, think more in tiny steps,
if every time you manipulate something you turn the knob till you hear a clear difference
you end up with a mess if you continue this on everything you gonna go thru

it would be interesting to have the old version still here to compare and see what was better in the old and what improved in the new

have a look at this tips and try to apply some of them.

Sorry about that guys. I had some difficulty with some equipment yesterday and did run it out in mono. There's no excuse for that.

Here is the remixed version, in stereo. EQs on acoustic guitars have been cut in the vocal range and drums have been added some thumph.
Earlier versions have been removed by request of the artist.

    Thanks for all feedback.

great! so much better now, guitars still a tiny little bit to wide, and maybe you could move something between voice and guitar in terms of pan.
toms and snare could have more "smack". toms sound like they could get there with some processing but snare to me sound like it needs some layering, thats quite a bit of work to accomplish.

but most of that is just my taste and you and mostly the artist should decide what to do or not now.

compared to the initial example its in a decent state now

    edit:
just noticed the voice is not dead center, seems to be a little to the left, but again, just my taste

Shit happens to all of us, nobody's perfect.

Stereo at least, what a relief.

Not too bad at all, but:

Piano sounds somewhat cheap (could add sustain, reverb or change the pitch).

You urgently have to balance the bass (guitar) volume/loudness. Most high notes are much to loud ( for instance 00:42, 01:00 and a lot more), some low too (02:16) and sometimes/mostly the bass is almost gone (01:02).

The guitars are falling radical in level when singer starts and vice versa.

Bass drum has no punch and could be louder.

The vocal is centered and not panned at all. Cheers for your feedback.

This is a project that has been lingering and finishing it was most important. The artist is satisfied, but more work could have been put into the recording part, so I just went for å quick finish. I am fairly satisfied compared to the first version.

    Thank you very much!

I struggled a bit with the bass and some of the other files as they were recorded a bit sluggishly.
First and foremost I wanted to finish the project and the artist seems satisfied.
I should deliver better on the bass.

I've decided to do a remix tomorrow and address the different areas of the song.
Hope you'll be able to leave some words regarding the results then. Much appreciated.

The only thing people can do really quick is making mistakes. Quality takes its time.

And you can't really fix sluggish recordings in the mix. It's much easier to do it the other way round ;-)

I am not talking about fixing sluggish recordings. In this case this project had been lying around for quite some time. That's why I just wanted to finish instead of just giving it up. As a general rule I always make sure recordings are as good as possible when recording at my place.
This particular project wasn't which makes it more of an effort to deal with. Compared to the originally recorded files this is already a huge accomplishment. But, instead of just pushing it out I'd rather do some remixes to find that quality that tells me I did my best, regardless of level. Tomorrow you can all tell me what you feel. That I am grateful for. Cheers.

Maybe a suggestion from me concerning the bass?

Don't try to level it via compressor or limiter, the differences are too big. Better use a rider (gain-, level- volume-, there are different names) or cut it into pieces and adjust the level of the parts.
