Hi - I just updated to Kontakt 5.5 and realized I had lost my East West Libraries..
They Can Be Loaded, but when I try to launch a .nki, I get the below message..
Same with Quick Load.. Has Anyone found a workaround for this?

K2 limbraries can be problemática in some kontakt versions.
But you can delete and readd the lib

 

Here is a shot at helping, from what I can understand of your description:

It appears to be that the library was licensed by NI to be used in Kontakt, so it can't be loaded just by clicking on an .nki file; you have to add it to the Libraries browser (the column on the left-hand side where the "wallpaper" images for the libraries appear.

If adding to the libraries file doesn't work, update the Libraries cache in Kontakt, then go through the steps to load it in the browser again. (This has worked for me before.)

A failure of the library to be added to the browser could also be due to a conflict between the library's index number in the .nicnt file with another library's (having the same number). This can be changed by opening the .nicnt file in a text editor. (Info on modifying .nicnt files can be found elsewhere in this forum.)

 

Thanks for helping.. I can Load The Library Into Kontakt, I just Can't Launch Anything… I'll Check The .nicnt file!

EDIT: It WASN'T THE .nicnt File… I'm thinking this is just an old library that will no longer load??? (EWQL RA)

The only workaround is to remove the library from within Kontakt and then add it back the same way. That allows you to work with it for that session until you close and open again. Repeat as needed. If you don't use the old libs that much, it's not really that big of a deal.

Note: if that procedure doesn't work, then download and install the latest NI Service Center version and then do the procedure above again.

 

What kind of EW Library you got. Tell me the name maybe I can help.

 

It's all of them starting with Collosus etc..

 

Adding the library isn't the issues. Once loaded, I am not able to launch any .nki. I get that error message that I attached (see above)
I have EWQL RA, and their Gold Orchestra libraries..

 

you need to have ethno 5 library installed first then RA will work. You may just need to readd ethno 5

 

The problem is the cracks for the latest Mac version of K5, are not complete..... and are missing something...

This has been an ongoing issue ... over the years with certain cracks... and every so often it rears it's head unfortunately...

The last R2R release v5.4.1, doesn't have this issue.... so I'm assuming you will have to wait until R2R release their version of the crack to resolve this properly... unless Platensesoul can work out what is missing from his crack.... compared to the R2R ones...

It's probably something that has to be changed in, deleted from or added to... one of the plists installed by the original installer..

This is not intended to slight Platensesoul's release, which is much appreciated never the less

R2R haven't released v5.5.x for the Mac yet.......

Wow. Introninja's trick is a really good one. I would never thought in such a thing although I've experience with Kontakt and old EWQL libraries.
