Think some companies and boards are implementing AI moderation, so it screws up from time to time, there was big issue on You Tube about that some time ago when they implemented it, lot of accounts were banned and than taken back after dispute. Also there was issue with Apple Music and other services that would ban artist's for undisclosed reasons, when they asked what they did, nobody really could give them meaningful answers.

 

Your secret is safe with me I got mobbed and banned on another forum for pointing out some dangerous advice. Fast forward a few years and the entire narrative has flipped, but being right didn't help me any. Now I keep quiet, and if idiots want to cause harm to themselves I just let them get on with it. My main takeaway is the gullible people outnumber the sane by a factor of more than 2 to 1, so the world is kind of screwed.

Rules never cover all situations and more than rules, personal opinions are involved in judgments. Man is a complex creature and laws try to control his behavior. Usually, laws are written and implemented by people who are not interested in the complexity of human behavior and like to standardize different opinions as much as possible and put all people in certain rails.

Billions of people with different opinions live on the planet. The brain of each of these people is a unique and complex world, but the power of the rules is so great that they have forced all these billions of people to think about specific things that interest them.

The Internet was once supposed to be a means of connecting the brains and thoughts of people with each other, but in the end, it became a means to impose the personal tastes of its operators on the users, and practically pushed intellectual diversity to the margins.

These restrictive rules changed the world of music as well.

Someone dislikes facts?

Someone thinks they have some "human rights" on forums?

Even though they were 100% wrong about everything that they might have said and proven so, in the overwhelming number of the cases you will never hear an apology or place blame on the lies that formed their own false ideas and which they just repeated. What you will hear though is the excuse of that they were just trying to help or just nothing at all. As you well know, vast majorities of the ill informed will buy into lies spewed by authority figures and propagate the propaganda of the moment. This is the way social media works as well as in discussions en vivo.

 

This is beyond doubt 100% accurate in theory.

Have you ever seen an unmoderated forum? If not, be grateful there are no psychopaths and sociopaths here, and that the members do not comprise of 90% of people like FOSTER.
Free speech is fantastic if you can guarantee that no participant is insane.

I say this THEORETICALLY - Moderators were originally designed to keep the peace, not to inhibit speech. Sure, some have God complexes on some forums, but many mostly just try to keep the peace.

Various forms of speech exist, yet not all forms can be considered free. Untrue, unjust, ugly, cruel, immoral, merciless, insulting, hateful, malicious, vulgar, against the law, insane...

Indeed, I too got banned from KVR. Only for stating that the Weiss compressor is based on outdated DSP from the 1990s and that it doesn't make much sense to me to "emulate" and praise outdated tech from the early days of digital sound processing, when there is up-to-date DSP. Here is a recent discussion on AS about that experience.

I was a KVR member for over 15 years and I received no prior warning, that my account might be banned.

The other issue is that their website relies on the content created by the forum members. Yet, when you get banned, you lose access to your content (the content remains, but with an anonymous alias instead of your original member name). The forums are what attracts people to the site, yet the forum members as such are not really valued.

The very least you can do now: send an e-mail to [email protected] or [email protected] and ask them to provide you the complete set of information according to General Data Protection Regulation GDPR Article 15. In another life, when the internet was in its experimental form (mid 90's), chats already existed: moderators didn't exist and there was a feeling of freedom and revolution. Then it all ended. Unfortunately, there is always someone who takes pleasure in abusing other people, it is part of human being

• Obtaining or discussing warez, cracks, porn, politics, etc.
• Flames/Stupid arguments.
• Elite-ness/Egos/One-upmanship/Penis comparison/Parent fights/etc.
• Format wars (Please...) /Host wars (Come on, try now...) /Platform wars (Leave it Darren, it's not worth it...).

It's an outrage that they won't allow penis comparison.
It's the one thing I had going for me there.

 

Just create 2 accounts like me 1 for being a good boy and 2 for a idgaf attitude.. if I get in a argument with a person I just switch accounts acting like I'm a second person in agreement with myself lol.. and say what I want lol

 

They can see your IP. I was even once wrongfully accused of bumping my thread up, cause I "supposedly created an account and talked trash" They said that I and that guy had the same IP address. Then they checked and realised it wasn't me...

The guy got rightfully banned though.

 

I know, but they would still have to comply with EU regulations, which is in fact the most important market (in terms of purchasing power alone) for many US-based digital platforms, unless they take measure to make their website unavailable from the EU (which would probably mean that they lose two-thirds of their users / traffic).

When the GDPR was introduced, some US websites (including Los Angeles Times and Washington Post) even temporarily made their websites unaccessible from the EU, since they feared fines for not having updated their backend to comply with the new EU legislation. And don't forget that even companies like Google and Facebook had to pay fines before for not complying with EU legislation, though the fines were probably peanuts for them in the bigger picture.

 

this is a bit ambiguous, is the ban because of your username, or is that the standard ban message that everyone gets who gets banned?
if it's the former, then did your username contain anything that broke the rules?
