Has anyone tried this plug? I've never tried either this or the hardware, and I feel it's mostly been used on cheesy albums (no offense to anyone's music taste xD) but I am definitely curious

 

SRS Labs? They used to have a plugin for Winamp. Same kind of "audio improvement" plugin that was supposed to make things sound "better". Big bass on small speakers allegedly. It did make things sound bigger and more bassy, but I'm worried about mono compatibility, phase etc. Some of these plugins are fine for playback at home, but not so great if you're mixing with them.

 

Yeah, I agree, but apparently it was the secret weapon on the guitars for Metallica's black album, and many metal, nu-metal imitators chasing the secret after it. I'm not convinced, but i'd stick it on a guitar bus to check it out lol

Every plug is a "secret weapon" apparently. I really dislike the intentionally obtuse marketing & labeling of the controls on the plugin...typically when devs do this it's because the plugin is in reality very boring and a very simple algorithm.

It's probably just a generic haas effect, chorus, or a mixture of similar well known "stereoizer" algorithms. I bet you could recreate it with stock plugs or airwindows.

It also seems to have iLok like their other plugins & requires online activation, so that's fun
