NIce. I bet it takes a lot of practice to be able to play a track like this on the fly.
Actually, I own a sampler but never use it because I have many frustrating issues with it. Any tips for a clean (and stereo!) sound? The cable that comes with the machine doesn't seem to be adequate.

Yes! It's a sampler, so you are able to drop whatever sounds you like into the machine!

    Hey Aghori,

What I did was clean out each individual sound for a premix approach, to take out any muddiness. I have it hooked up with regular RCA, but used my mastering tools to give it more boldness. There is something called Xnoise that helps with any additional humming or buzzing which I also used, by Waves.

I guess I've been producing long enough now to get an idea on where I want to go with my track so it's not as difficult to do on the fly. What I did was study all the functions of the unit and tried to utilize as much of what "little" there is. But to be honest, for such a "little" machine, it's incredibly diverse. I'd say the best part of it all is it's friendly user face.

To me, it seemed to be a pretty decent device if you want a simple out of the box drum machine. I've even seen pro bands like Ghostemane use it. But as I said, I was disappointed by the connector options (just a small jack, no usb on my version, etc.)

Do you mean you recorded each "track" of the volca one by one?

    Hey Aghori,

My version is #2, which as a usb connection and there is Korg software to use to simply drag and drop whatever samples you choose. In which case, I used Eq and cleaned each sound out the way I wanted!

It's a great machine for a base of a track, or even the main part of a track. I just finished a full version which I dragged into my Daw and added to. Surprisingly, I didn't have to add that much! It's a minimal groovy House track.

You must have version one. There is a video by a guy on Youtube that says to update to 1.3 or later. There is a software you can use for the first addition, although I haven't used it. Mine is the second model, which comes with a usb hook up and software.

I got most of my information from this particular video if it helps you :

I've used 'vosyr' (https://www.frederikson-labs.com/) on a Windows PC for my Volca Sample.
And same here: I didn't know there is a Sample 2! With USB
Smaple-Transferring must be much easier with USB than with the audio cable.

Nice track @Trevor Gordon and even better to know now about Volca Sample 2.
