I wish the GUI was radically different. No mention of auto scripting for people who don’t know much about coding, something Adobe did an amazing job on w DreamWeaver. I’m afraid it’s simply going to be a cpu hog and filled w bugs.... But, we’ll see. Hopefully not.

I know we've all lived without it so far but live audio input and a record button would be nice.

Bad news for us Mac folk who've had to keep around 5.6.6 to add libraries to 5.6.8-5.8.1. Newer v6 Kontakt libraries might not even be able to be added in v5.

    • 3 new instruments in the factory library (synthwave, foley, keyboards)
    • New effects: Replika delay, new reverb algorithms (room, hall, plate), crybaby wah
    • Wavetable module
    • Creator Tools - a debugger and Instrument Editor, separate application
The last one is huge, actually. For the longest time all we had for making instruments was a tinyass window in Kontakt itself, and you had no warnings or errors so you could only find bugs when your users report them. Instrument Editor can also be scripted to automap samples, duplicate groups (you used to have to create a new group and then add all the samples one by one by hand, then set their zones etc), batch rename samples, etc

Is this similar to what we already have in synths such as Serum or Massive?
    If yes, then wow...

    What a Joke.
I own Kontakt 5. I've been waiting more than half a decade of Kontakt 6 to be released...
And all they add is sample libraries... and a wavetable synth....
    What a joke...
Native instruments should be ashamed of themselves...

    • Creator Tools - a debugger and Instrument Editor, separate application
They Could of atleast replace this creator tools garbage with a drag and drop solution like many web design platforms...

    What a Joke....

I hope this is a 50 dollar upgrade... Because that's all it's worth...

It's for allowing waveform morphing. I suspect people will start sampling synths and allow smooth waveform changes, yes.

It's no garbage, actually this is the single biggest workflow & speed enhancement for making libraries since Kontakt was first released in 2002. Many web design platforms look like shit with the drag & drop solutions. Also, this doesn't change the fact you still have to code the behavior of your UI, and this will never be drag&drop for something as complex and powerful as Kontakt.

Are you nuts? Europa is freaking great, didn't try Grain yet, but granular sounds like a lot of fun. Also world instruments and choirs from Soundiron, one of the best people in the business (responsible for Olympus choir, NI Symphony Series and lots of other cool things), Radical Piano (which used to be a $129 extension) and Synchronous, which is a lot like LFOtool but also does filter, delay, reverb and distortion. The upgrade is $129, which is basically the price of something like u-he Hive or IL Sytrus. Just Europa and Grain are worth the upgrade tbh.
