It seems as though Kontakt is full.
I have added a lot of libraries to Kontakt (some registered, some with KontaktLibraryManager).
Now if I want to add one, I have to remove another.
    Any way around this?

Stop adding custom libraries and just use the Quick Load function.

It probably takes you forever to even find a library if you have so many it won't even accept anymore. And for what? To see a thousand graphic banners in the library rack? If you're busy making music you won't miss those distracting icons anyway.

    gimmee,
use the alphanumeric combination instead of (only) numeric for all open format libraries.

Valid range of alphabetic characters for : a - f.
Valid range of numeric characters: 0 - 9.

e.g.: aa1; f99 etc if you use .nicnt files.

Just as a matter of interest, how many did you manage before you filled up?

Extra. As a matter of interest I use decimal notation xxxx, anything below 1000 and above 500 seems to work. Do we need more than 500+ libraries?

    hi,

why did you think that kontakt is full? is there a error-msg?

    best regards

    by the way...
i create nicnt-files by myself, too.
i use numbers 900+ and made a textfile which numbers i've already used.
If you use s.th. like aa1 or ab2 you can get into trouble with nicnt-files from other guys. (Two Libraries - Same Code). I got this trouble two or three times before i used my SNIPD with numbers 900+ only.

How very greedy of you :snuffy:

personally I probably only have 3 or 4 in the library view at any one time, I just remove/add when required :mates:

    SirSillySausage,

    What a silly comment.

The time taken to phaf around with installing and uninstalling libraries can seriously affect the creative juices. It is much better to have them on hand and just immediately try one - or another.

May I suggest creating "Manufacture" libraries, with product sub-libraies within. instead of making a thousand individual product libraries? *yes*

Or Make a 'Favorites' library with your favorites inside it. :bleh:

10 seconds to load a library from my harddrive, seriously affects the creative juices, really? :dunno:

I personally like better to use the QuickLoad list (instead of scrolling and scrolling and never finding what I'm looking for).
I haven't (yet) to add all banks and would be interested to know the limitation on this. I was planing to have two main folders. And in each folder would have sub-folders... for instance:

    - Brand (that would have A, B, C, D folders, and each folder will have company name and product name)
    - Type (that would have pretty much the big instruments type families such Piano, Guitar, Strings, Woodwinds, etc... and each will have more detailed sub-division)

That way, immediately from the quickload list I could easily find a specific bank that I'm looking for (let say Brand, N, Native Instruments, Action Strings... Bam, found it, in only few clicks).
Or I could just try to get "surprised" and just search by the kind of tone I'm looking for... Let say an acoustic Piano (I go to Type, Acoustic Piano, and bam I could choose presets between NI Berlin, Some Colossus Piano Presets, or even Vir 2 VI One, or whatever I could have).

Did you already tried this kind of "QuickLoad List Structure" and do you know how many libraries, folders, Presets, etc... it could contain and support? Any feedback would be appreciated...
    (Note: I'm on a Mac)

    Thanks!!

Or do like i do sort them in instrument instead of manufactors like Piano Brass Wind etc etc many manufactors have many different instruments so it´s kind of hard to remember all of them.

quickload and the database is a much better method of organizing. but if you have to use the library tab i do love introninja's method of using a combined library.
