Actually MAGIX purchased the *.ytif *.ytil from "Yellow Tools". It has always been YTIF/YTIL.
If you mean they could have made it more cross-compatible, I totally agree but they simply never changed it. It is also the same format in the Best Service Engine. The *.ytif *. ytil files all load in the Best Service Engine providing the version of the *.ytif *. ytil files are not newer than the engine loading them.

You can create your own *.ytil libraries.... Best Service engine has the facility to import up to 25 wav files into it and export as a *.ytil file. It is highly possible they give the code to people like Eduardo Tariolonte to encode but it is also possible he does it directly in the ENGINE. You can also export MIDI from it too. It is a little bit more than only a sound playing engine. You can modify a whole lot more than this simple post suggests. Both owned by MAGIX now so that's no surprise.

Nothing new, but thanks for the information . Time ago tried with The Yellow Tools Majestic Bass as standalone out of Independence, but was a little late. Not supported by Windows 7. I think I still have in one old HDD.
