Hi Griff, I've been far removed from music production, and anything related to Kontakt libraries/wallpaper, etc, for the better part of 2021 due to medical issues that my wife and I both experienced this year. My wife endured months of emotionally and physically debilitating treatment, then major surgery, and then recovery. The latter of which, thank goodness, has been mostly positive and encouraging. Shortly after my wife's "medical adventures", I had long awaited, but expected cardiac surgery (2 problematic heart valves), but then a near fatal complication requiring a rush to the ER, emergency surgery, and a LONG recovery ...

During this year, I often thought about what I wanted to do musically in my remaining years (I'm 59) ... Continue teaching piano, songwriting, theory, etc ... or dedicate more time to composing professionally. I've taught for nearly 35 years, and while it's been fulfilling, and I still can summon up the encouraging/inspiring words, I have less "fight" in me to push students who don't get joy from learning to play music, and who'll only do OK, if I constantly nudge them ...

I then think of the composing work I've done, the successes, the amazing feeling of creating music, the MANY projects I want and can do, as well as the technology (hardware and software) which still makes me feel like a little kid with a brand new toy. Even tonight, my eyes lit up, when I saw all the amazing contributions that you and your fellow "Kontakt wallpaper artists" have made to this forum, this year.

I was so sorry to read about your mother's passing. Without knowing her, but from your words, I believe you and your family were blessed to have had her for so long, and to have had "front row seats" to her remarkable talent. I wish you and and your family well, and pray that your feelings of loss, of such a "towering figure", are soon replaced with only happy, joyous memories, that give you all, strength.
