Hello guys, I've done a skin for Piano in Blue that is not a licensed kontakt library but it loads under the files tab.. I've extracted the original graphic from the .nkr with Dragon Unpacker and then photoshopped it.

Do you know any method to replace this in the .nkr? If I load the PNG through kontakt wallpaper settings dialog it works, but if I save the library .nki and re-open it, the original wallpaper kicks in.

Im not real savy with the technical lingo. But @Celtic is. What I do with all my shit is just a batch resave. but all my wallpapers work with naming it wallpaper.png and putting it by itself in the first folder. It will take precedence over the license libraries as well as third party.

I didn't specify that what I'm trying to change is not the library image in the library tab (off course, because this isn't a library) but the actual GUI. I Saw some spitfire guis in the precedent pages so I wrote here!

 

Yes but he is not talking about the wallpaper, he is talking about the Graphical interface (GUI) that you see on the right side on the window when you load an instrument. Or that´s what I understood.
If I am wrong, @Vanx, correct me, but you are talking about this? Replace this with your own "skin"?

 

The batch resave only decrypt and compress (if required) nkx and wav files in new ncw files, smaller and faster to load. With a little of luck, you can save some GB in some libraries. With the caution of knowing that folder Multis is not included in the resave and you have to maintain after deleting original Instruments and Samples folder. But the GUI is talking about Vanx is no affected during the process, in the same way that GUI, nevermind if png or tga.

There are libraries, as Vnax sure knows, that incorpore into the subfolder Resources any kind of folder where the diverse GUI are included, usually in tga format. But if the question is that if .nkr can be decryted for changing the original GUI file for yours, I think it can be done, but don´t know the procedure. Can look for it, but today is a very special day in Spain and will be difficult to take a look. Maybe tomorrow or last hours here in Spain.

Yeah maybe I've mixed up some terms! I did read "wallpaper" in this topic, and wallpaper in the kontakt skin settings too.. so a little of terminology confusion!

Hello Celtic thank you for the reply, yes! I indeed know about the other libraries that have the resources not "baked" in the .nkr, so you're right.. I'm trying to replace that .png file (I've already did in photoshop) in the resource container, but I searched a lot and found nothing (only how to extract some resources from it, through that "Dragon Unpacker" under windows, so I've been able to import the wallpaper file into photoshop)
I understand, and if you would like to help me (and the others reading this topic off course! I'm sure it would be useful) when you can, it would be awesome!

 

Hi, anybody got nicnt for SonicCouture Novachord v.2.Would be much appreciated! I upgraded from the version one and for some reason didn't get this file in the download.I'm on Mac , I looked at the MINI-NICNT app which seems perfect but for windows only.Thanks

@watercolours Novachord 2? There is only the update from original version. If you want, 1.1, but not Novachord 2. It´s a library previous to Kontakt 5 as you know, so it´s registered via Service Center with NKX file. That´s what you need to update I think. For if it´s useful send my files. At this case, MINI-NICNT is unuseful, because SNPID is encrypted on NKX registering file. You can see the number in Content from registry.

With this few time is the maximum I can do. Replace files in master folder, delete k2libxxxx in Content and Novachord entry on Native Instruments folder on registry. (Local Machine- Software-Native Instruments.
