Anyone having trouble accessing the instruments after adding library?? It says the library has to be added before it can be used?!

 

than you need to put it the shared folder and if you added an .nicnt you need to remove it

well, the machine is basically confused. Some libraries "powered" by kontakt or "registered" and I say some because not all of them are this way, but some of them must reside in the "user/shared" folder unlike most libraries which can be anywhere on the drive internal or external. I dont have the expertise to explain it completely, I learned this through trial and error. So even though you wont see an .nicnt in the folder doesnt mean its not there, its embedded along with the wallpaper. So if you add an .nicnt without knowing, it will see that its there and load into the tab, but than gets confused when its actual instrument time. So it basically loads a blank library than when you try to insert the instrument and recognizes a registered library but cant find the .nicnt that actually belongs to it. However you can still put the wallpaper.png in the folder and it will take precedence over the embedded one without any problem. Damn this is long and an expert can most certainly clarify this for you. However I know windows OS is not the same as Mac so its probably not the "user/shared" folder but I believe monty runs windows and kontakt in most aspects Im sure has the same principles. Anyone feel free to correct me if Im wrong.

I'm not sure what's really happening either. In my case, this time, I think it's because I actually checked before adding the library and saw that another one was already using the SNPID. Unfortunately I changed the trumpet's number instead Afterwards I tried the reverse, deleted the .xml in Service Center and used KLM, cleaned the registry and rebooted. All to no avail. I decided to just start over - I downloaded a new copy from a different source! But RainManMac's cryptic advice was still resonating... before adding again I checked with Notepad++. Incredibly it found the old .nicnt on a different drive! I of course deleted it first, and now everything's honky dorey Thanks

Oh, yeah - I'm running Windoze 7.
