Hi people.

Just wanted to ask on people's experience. I've an update exe file for kontakt 5.5
Antivirus is picking it up as a trojan if I remember rightly.
Usually a keygen flashes up which is fine. That's to be expected. However I don't recall an actual EXE ever doing this so am a little hesitant to do so. R2R if I recall.

Any info gratefully received.

 

If it´s from R2R it should be ok.

 

I thought so mate but wasn't certain. New studio monitors turning up tomorrow. Don't need a busted pc!!!

lol, make sure you downloaded from a good source like AZ, if not don't install, because maybe it sais R2R but it's not actually from R2R, and anything from R2R is clean so...

 

Well it was an place I went to back in the day for movies(Nzb). Always been OK. This was all I can find that's still up.

Actually copied Exe files to old pc to scan. This didn't pick anything up. But is out of dates Antivirus. Just have a kontakt instrument that I wouldn't mind using but need the update.

 

Scan with Virustotal as well. Install some free Anti virus software that are good, AVG, Avast or Avira, Malwarebytes is good too, sometimes. I install one of these once/week, scan everything then delete. What is virus reported, delete.
Even so, I may have some trojans as well, those damn russians
If is 0 day virus, you scan in vain, they are undetected for 2-3 weeks.

Best method is to disconect the music computer from internet and install whatever you want, no worry about data stealing anymore.
