    Hi
So I finally got Native Instruments Kontakt PORTABLE 7 v7.5.2 WiN-vkDanilov working.

But I add libraries, I can see them as added in the library manager,
    [IMG]https://postimg.cc/4nPYTw0j
but they do not appear in the library browser...
    https://postimg.cc/0bNb5DRj
    The libraries I've added are
    - Quantum Leap Brass
    - Mojo Horn Section Library
    - Sonart Audio Jazz Pop Brass Horns

They are old libraries that I like (That's why I want to use portable version, as the other ones do not allow adding old libraries)

Anyone have a solution to see these libraries in the library browser?

I don't know if it's different on the portable version.
Does this happen only to the libs you mentioned or in general to old/homemade ones?

    allow.
just update libraries nicnt files with new info from NativeAccess.xml (old nicnt use ras2 format info, now kontakt use ras3 format).

only mojo have official nicnt file. other libraries just have bad selfmade nicnt files.

I only tried with these ones
These are not home made libraries

    How to do this?

Conclusion, maybe it's better for me to use the old Kontakt version? Like 5.8 before NI fucked up with their shitty data base.

    Hi Olymoon,
For me, the portable version of Kontakt is much better:
By including all C++ dependencies and not needing to read registry keys, it's much less prone to crashes.
    Much better libraries management.
No more missing thumbnails in the new Kontakt browser.

It's a good idea to update NativeAccess.xml, whether you're using potable Kontakt or the regular version. You just need to install the Native Access app, you don't need to login, just open it and click the update button on the top right. The NativeAccess.xml file is located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center. I update it on my computer online and transfer it to offline.
I think it's the only file Kontakt Portable needs outside of its own folder.

Yes, I use to use nicnt files.
But in the Sample Modeling The Sax Brothers there were only old nkc file. So I wrote a nicnt file, and now, all the three libraries are visible, or may it be because I restarted windows and reaper??

Yes, I'm convinced already with the portable version, but one of the reason is not to depend of NativeAccess.xml... Because then, I could not use my old libraries. Or I'm I wrong?

NativeAccess.xml only concerns official libraries. It does not prevent you from adding "home made libraries" via a standard nicnt. In this way and using portable Kontakt I have no problems with 99% of the libraries. The only problems are with some very old official libraries.

    These nicnt's should work:
    https://mega.nz/file/ncoGBLgY#5VM5pmcXI5aWxFKsxdo9IyhZFKkNo913mKza3psNNmU

They're made using the NICNT maker and then edited as @Talula said. The Sonart one I had to make it up (random not used SNPID) because it's deprecated by NI. Still should work on all Kontakts except R2R's (you guys are the best, but "broken libraries" my ass ) Password:

Thank you. I already have most nicnt done, and I have my own database of nicnt numbers I created to avoid conflicts.
But I'll download this one, just in case. Thank you

BTW: So you are still using Kontakt 5 aside of 7?

One thing I dont understand is for Sample Modeling The Sax Brothers.
When I try to add it, it says "no library found"
But I could add Sample Modeling The Trombone and Sample Modeling The Trumpet v. 2.52 without any problem, while they dont even contain nicnt file, they have nkx files instead.
Sample Modeling The Sax Brothers have exactly the same typo of file, is not found as a library??

Also, I have to restart Reaper each time I add a library, just to see it in the menu...

Not sure where you heard that old/new lib's won't load on FULL version.. I have Kontakt 7.1.3 FULL running Mojo/Mojo II, alicia's keys, NI Brass ensemble, and a number of "older" libs that were all added via built in Lib Management in Kontakt. In fact ever since I got rid of all my lower versioned kontact instances and went with Kontakt 7 exclusively, I had to "make" "0" NICNT files for any lib's installed to date. The only thing I have done was to update NativeAccess.XML (the actual nativeaccess app is nowhere to be found on my system) to a newer version because of a new updated Battery version that was installed. Didn't affect anything with Kontakt at all...All those lib's have worked first time every time, ever since they were first added.

Because I mess with them, slim down etc. The actual reason is that in the process I "batch resave" the instruments.
And if you resave a lib made for v5 with v7 then you can only use it in v7. The ones you mentioned are a good example (v5).

I have made a "no install" version of the three Kontakts so it's a second to install/uninstall them. But I'm a rare case, for most people a stable version of v7 should be fine.
With a backup of the original instruments, that can get you out of troubles.
So now, is there other problem? Or just wandering if there was a more simple solution...

I don't know how you were able to. The addition/change of nicnt's is mandatory, the addition even if you use legit version or R2R's. For discontinued libraries like Oly's Sonart Audio you have to make it manually. But not everyone has those libs.
Important: I'm always talking about all libraries visible in the classic left column. Not the ability of just loading them.

For now I had no time to do more tests.

I have to write Horns sections scores urgent, so I cant do more test until it's done.
But I hope that all tese libraries I have with their own nicnt and snip ID will work.
