    Whats up all,
I had some questions I am trying to get some clarity to.. You guys have been super helpful in the past, and I want to say thanks in advance!

So, lets just say a friend let me download the kontakt vienna symphony library (or maybe more like, 1000 friends lol)..

It came in ten parts, all 9-10 gbs a piece. I have been going through the process of mirroring the file structure in my quick load folder (it has taken me nearly 8-10 hours so far, and I am almost done thank god).. First part of my question is this:

Lets say, in part 1, part 3, part 4 ... there are instrument files that say, "trumbone, and trumpet"... Then, they come up again in part nine.. What is the difference ? I realize that some trumbones and trumpets are altos and higher registered, but what if they arent labeled differently?

Also, in one part of the download, ill see the category for trumbone, and there will be one instrument file for trombone... but then, dozens of other files in the sub categories.. I am wondering if those other files are just the effects that maek the trombone sound real... and if i load up the main trombone file, is it essentially a representation of the whole of all the other instrument files in the other sub categories?

And, Secondly, does any one else have this library? How did they go about making it an actual library that comes up on the left hand side of the plug in?

There is no "Kontakt Vienna Symphonic Library"
The library included in Kontakt 5 is a highly shortened version of the VSL original library.
Its smaller in sample count & velocity layers and lacks the implulses needed to make it sound cool i.e it's crap!

VSL basically used to use Kontakt as a host their instruments since about Kontakt 2 I think so some kind of deal was done :dunno:

They then developed their own proprietary software which is mega cool!!

As said you also need the impulses to make it sound anything like the real thing like you get in Mir Vienna Pro.

So basically before they developed their own software they used Kontakt but the watered down version included in K5 is like 0.5 out of 10 Compared to the real thing. Plus it totals around 8 GB in size I think so not sure where u get 9-10 G a peice?

You mean the well old symphonic cube?

I also don't understand what you mean by the last part of your question sorry :dunno:
