New to the forum great to be here. Lucky i stumbled across the forum when looking at how to solve a Kontakt issue.

Firstly, big props to the regular contributors to this forum, amazing the amount of info and contributions people have made! Awesome!


Whilst I don't think I will be able to offer too much in the more technical software troubleshooting topics. Hopefully I can offer some feedback to other topics around music production in general.

I was hoping i could get some advice on Kontakt issues im having which is driving me crazy.

I recently went back to windows from mac. On mac i had an R2R release of contact running perfect, all libraries worked like a charm (about 50 or so)

The last few days ive tried to get numerous versions from 5.4 to 5.6.5 working standalone and unlocked and short story is pretty much everyone hasn't worked for me.


The best of managed thus far is i have currently R2Rs 5.6.5 with activation keygen working with 5 8DIO releases but every other library i get error:

"Emotional Cello Library.nki" could not be loaded. The file format is not supported or corrupt.

Doesn't matter what library same error just different nki Pretty much every other library doesn't work other then a handful of 8DIO releases.

I did find some info pointing towards entries created with a newer release when ppl have rolled back to an earlier version having issues.

But seeing im currently running the latest version ive installed cant be that.

To be honest in the attempt to get any version of kontakt working i have tried a few releases now and maybe ive shot my registry somewhat i dont know. Tried cleaning out entries ( my system restore snapshot didnt allow me to roll back very far) but still have the same issue.

I tried a lib creator for ncint and xml and all that seem to do was change msg from "library not found to the corrupt msg above.

There's a good 4 years of downloads on my disc and thought of not getting the libs working or a good amount of them is killer.
Only thing i have noticed is working ones have xml files

I was hoping someone might have an idea of what the issues is or things i should check to diagnose that would be awesome.

Heck if someone can fix it ill send a case of beer, whiskey or vice of choice!!
Sorry I can't offer details info up front as to be honest kinda newbie but i can gather any info needed.
