Hi all. I could successfully install all libraries onto the new Kontakt 7. The is an issue with only 2 libraries: Exhale and Rev X-Loops. Kontakt 7 only lists the 2 .nki files they come with, but NOT the snapshots files (.nksn extension), which are normally listed - with previews - for all other libraries.

Anybody got a solution?

Also, does anybody own the PAResources folder for Exhale? It's the only one I'm missing at the moment.

 

same here for exhale, no preset previews, for rev presets are listed but most have no audio preview

 

I had a problem where Exhale's wallpaper wasn't showing up. I did everything I could, even reinstalled the library. So just the other day I saw an Exhale Update version with the new NKS release and now all is well.
However there's still no audio preview.
Now I did see somewhere else here where someone suggested downloading the Native Browser Preview Library for Komplete Kontrol.

It's possible, but quite convoluted.


If you haven't alread installed Native Browser Preview Library iso for Komplete Kontrol, download and install directly from NI (7GB). Link is here:

(I installed this in my Samples library, alongside my other Kontakt libraries: E:\SAMPLES\Kontakt Libraries)


Frustratingly, sound previews that work for libraries in Komplete Kontrol do not always work in the Kontakt 7 browser eg all of the Abbey Road drum kits.


For the previews to play in Kontakt 7, you need to copy the .previews folders to the relevant Instrument Library folders. However, the folders you have just installed are not named, they have specific UPIDs. For a list of which Instruments the UPIDs represent, Google "Native Instruments UPID"


The first result will be a PDF which shows the Instrument Product Name and it's corresponding UPID. Search for the instrument - eg, the UPID for Abbey Road 50s Drummer is "0a170919-0e5f-4eb2-8413-4980bf88e3c4"


Now go to the NBPL folder that you have installed from the above link. Find the folder with the correponding UPID.


In there will be 2 folders: Instruments and Snapshots.


Open the Instruments folder and copy the .previews folder.

Navigate to the relevant library in your Samples folder, and paste the .previews in the Instruments folder of that library.


Return to the NBPL, open the Snapshots folder and copy the .previews folder in there, then paste in its corresponding Snapshots folder in the Instrument Library.


In my above example, there are 2 Snapshot .previews folders: one for AR50s Autumn Kit - Full and one for AR50s Spring Kit - Full

Each .previews folder for the Snapshots must be copied to it's corresponding Library folder eg. (for me) one to:

E:\SAMPLES\Kontakt Libraries\Abbey Road 50s Drummer Library\Snapshots\AR50s Autumn Kit - Full

and the other to:

E:\SAMPLES\Kontakt Libraries\Abbey Road 50s Drummer Library\Snapshots\AR50s Spring Kit - Full


Open Kontakt 7 to check, then repeat all of the above for all your installed libraries!

so u have presets showing in kontakt 7?

 

REV's presets are listed. REV X-Loops are the ones missing.

 

Thanks for the reply, bro. I did that to recover my missing preview samples. But the issue here is that Kontakt 7 - unlike it does with other expansions - won't list the presets but just "EXHALE.nki" and nothing else. I wonder if I'm doing anything wrong or if any file is missing!

 

I'm just going to stick my previous version. I've got too much to lose in the exchange. someone needs to invent some way to convert kontakt libraries to a better sampler.

 

Now I cannot find preview sounds for Pharlight... they're not even listed!

Sorted Exhale out - I downloaded a newer NINCT file. Cannot find the same thing for X-Loops... do you guys have it?

you have to resave nki from Kontakt 7
to get the previews visible from user presets.



from the nicnt file, the version i have (16) is still RAS2, native access say version 17 and ras3. maybe it is better with the new one.
edit the nicnt make nothing, it need something more.

Komplete Kontrol take them directlly.

PAResources can be extracted from the nicnt file, with total commander & inNKX plugin.
you should learn to do it, it can be usefull for extracted libraries without installer.

I got Exhale to work by simply injecting a newer NICNT. Why should it be different for X-Loops?

Anybody with a Kontakt 7 working REV X-LOOPS? Any chance somebody can grab the version 17/RAS 3 of it?
