As you can see, most library images are missing. I found this thread from NI website and applied it:

But it only solved the half of them. The rest of the images are still missing. My Kontakt version is 7.1.3 r4e.

 

The images showed in the new browser are taken from the nicnt library file when you add the library.
If your nicnt hasn't them they won't show. Homemade, for instance.
If the libs are older than the start of this NI (Komplete Kontrol) convention, say roughly 2016, you'd need to download a huge file from somewhere and them manually.

It's a PITA... no easy fix

 

Wait... So you've figured out how to get them to show up even with older libraries? Ive tried embedding the files into the ninct, they show up when installing with KLU. But ultimately they don't show up when running K7.... If you are able tell us how to convert the older libs to use the newer Komplete K style (I'm guessing par resources ect ect folders) please do share your wisdom!!

 

This is how it works for the new Kontakt 7 browser on PC:
in your "C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image" folder
there needs to be a folder with exactly the same name as the library in question.

An example: if you have a library called "Ambient Guitars", there needs to be a folder in the abovementioned folder, with exactly that name.
In it you need to have a suitable png image called "MST_artwork.png".
Always that exact name. Size should be 134x66.
So the path and filename for the example above would be
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image\Ambient Guitars\MST_artwork.png".

For most older libraries, there is no such image. You need to find one, or make one, for it to appear in the new Kontakt 7 Browser.
I'm sure there are other ways of getting it to work, but this works for this particular problem.

i don`t know if it works in not portable version. in portable you add image with name "wallpaper.png" and you get image on library. I don`t know is it feature only for portable, but you can try to do it

 

Thx for the tip. The thing is that Studio One shows only a single plugin. So, if I install the portable version, I won't be able to use the normal version.

If I may chime in, how can you make those instruments which don't have a nicnt file or picture show up in the old Instrument browser where they are sorted laterally?

 

you need to rename "kontakt6.vst" to something else and it should work. but i`m not sure. i use only portable

 

Are you on Mac? I'm talking about Windows R4E/Bobdule versions. I know there's a very cool KLU utility that does wonders for Mac Kontakt developed by a fellow user. Anyways, the files might be in different folder but should work similar. But the rest of OS differences, like MAc registry-like entries, etc I don't know.

And yeah, this is how it goes. For KompleteKontrol there're 3 more small images but that's the main one for Kontakt new browser. What I know I read it somewhere from Bobdule I think.

What I don't know is if there's another step to make in case of problems, like deleting some cache/database files...

Do you know why I have a different image appearing on the K7 content browser and on the left panel classic browser for the same library ? (Hz percussion in this case, I downloaded an image from the forum but didn't notice that I had a different one that was only showing up on the left panel)
