Is there way to check this without like opening the computer, I mean the c drive is an ssd 5400rpm and the other two are hdd so doesn't that mean it has 2 hard drives in?

Hmm I checked my c drive and it's 5400 rpm. But does this mean I should swap both my c drive and d drive to ssd?

By the way I tried to put the library on my c drive as a test, the results is better and this is without override instruments preload, I still get pops and clicks but it's a lot less with settings to 60kb.

Great tweaks that all Win 10 users should use, as it's not easy to find all of them as a user new to Win 10.

These guys really know all about this stuff.. so you have great help! but just in case it wasn't already answered I recently tested a piano library and it started glitching as soon as I was holding the sustain pedal down for too long. Then I read the manual and there it was - they deliberately left the voices at 500 (don't know- in case you had a supercomp) but made all the tests at 150-200. So they knew almost every comp wouldn't handle that count. You probably already tried that ..just my 2c

For Issues at the Export I found a solution that may help you too:
Open Kontakt in FL Studio -> Klick on the FL-Studio-Settings-Tab -> Processing -> Enable "Notify about rendering mode"

That ASUS ROG has a single internal Samsung SSD ?? That should *not* be a bottleneck.

    Some thoughts:

When you say "Drive D" presumably you have partitioned the drive? This won't give the same performance as a single partition.

What are your virtual memory settings for Drive C and D? That might be a reason for a bottleneck across a partitioned system drive/data drive. If both are set to "auto" try turning off virtual mem for drive D.

Are you running anti-virus or anti-malware stuff? Try switching off realtime monitoring.

You say it effects renders too. That's odd. It shouldn't effect renders if it's a realtime bottleneck. I think Avast anti-virus once caused similar issues for me - and the only solution was delete the anti-virus entirely.

Can you play / render a regular 24bit 96k audio file ok in FL - without pops and clicks? Are you using ASIO or Focusrite 2i2 drivers? Updated? What settings in FL? What settings in Foucsrite control panel?

Still sounds to me like the Scarlett's buffer is possibly too low based in that laptop spec as there is nothing else obvious that should bottleneck it as even a 5400rpm drive will mostly work fine unless it is a particularly demanding library needing quickly loaded samples streamed from disk.

5400 rpm is as slow as it gets. You'd at least be better off upgrading your system drive to an SSD and your D drive to a 7200 rpm HDD.

But that shouldn't effect effect rendering. Nothing should.

FL should render perfectly without a sound card installed at all. Something else is going on imo.

Apparently we still aren't sure if the HDD is SSD or not. We don't know if the drive is partitioned or not. We don't know virtual memory settings, whether an AV is running or not. Maybe the drive uses encryption? Maybe something else is going on? We don't know whether ASIO is being used, or Focusrite, or FL ASIO or anything.

What is being used as the audio player (to check renders)? Scarlett 2i2 (gen1) will only play 16bit in Windows (absent an audio app that uses ASIO or Focusrite drivers). That conversion (24->16) could generate issues - which could make it *seem* as if the FL renders are screwed, even if they are not. Does gen2 support 24bit in Win? 2i2 also only does 24/96.....maybe it's only 192 samples that are causing issues? Who knows? :D

All this info needs pinning down first.

Also it is a gamer laptop so there might be all kinds of overlays (screen capture/recording and gfx card/cpu meters etc) running in the background too. Those are notorious for causing lags.

I just installed the latest r2r fl studio crack and the problem seems to be gone, weird :S. I lost all my projects though, I reinstalled so many times that I lost track of my projects folder and deleted it by accident....

That sux. Glad you got it sorted though. Maybe just a bad install. Who knows. Bit rot I guess, lol.

    I had a similar problem:
On an old PC (E8600 + 4GB) everything was fine.
Than I upgraded to a i7 3770k + 8GB, and the Hammersmith was unplayable (pops, clicks...)

The libraries were on a D: drive, WD 7200

    Solution that worked for me:
I temporarily moved the problematic Hammersmith library to a C drive, and defragmented a few times the D drive with all the other libraries.
...than I moved back the Hammersmith to the D drive, and defragmented a few more times.
    Since than, everything is fine.
Apparently, moving the library to the end of the drive solved the problem for me.

To defrag, I use the old Diskeeper.
