make the the nicnt, name, and regkey names all match. Apply a snip number that hasn't been used. Then load kontakt 5, add library, and it should then be in 6.5x. The easiest route like I mentioned is to use kontakted which can be on the sister site.

 

When you added the nicnt, does it show in service center? If the XML file is present follow these steps:

1) Go to Service Center and find ABC.xml.

2) **Note: Make sure Kontakt is not open in this step**
Open the xml with text editor and paste this 2 lines under <ProductSpecific>

<HU>6C70AC13E02414D1A552685A1301D859</HU>
<JDX>023733942B73318EAEAD914E3981EC68BE72519A2F5738F828A6A028C4E1DBAC</JDX>

So it will look like this:
<ProductSpecific>
<HU>6C70AC13E02414D1A552685A1301D859</HU>
<JDX>023733942B73318EAEAD914E3981EC68BE72519A2F5738F828A6A028C4E1DBAC</JDX>
<Visibility type="Number">3</Visibility>
</ProductSpecific>
Save it.

3) Open Kontakt 5.6 (or whatever version you add your libraries with) and add the missing Library. It will say library already exists which means you are good to go. You will have to do this for every missing library so it will be tedious if you have a bunch.

4) Close Kontakt 5.6x

5) Open Kontakt 6.5. and your library will now be there an hopefully on future updates as well

No, it is just the .nicnt that causes the problem, as I have kept on saying.
Not using a .nicnt at all would be my first choice! As I have said above.
Or then fixing the .nicnt file. I do not use kontakted for this.
And those 2 lines of code are not the "key elements that are missing" either, but whatever. Although it may help your situation here.
A real .nicnt has references to the samples used in the library, and many other things.
I'd say just open the libs via the .nki in Quickload.
Life is too short to be messing around just to have a pretty picture in the Library Tab, imo.
I prefer making music.

Nope, I have made every single nicnt file and when kontakt 6.5 broke them, I added those lines on the existing xmls and now they are all there. The methods I've used work and also kontakted will also work as well. The nicnt files have nothing to do with samples being able to read.

You're using 1.9 which is way outdated. 4.5 should be the one you should be using. If you can't find it, I'll pm you.

I know that @Talula and josenacha have proved this regards the extra info in a .nicnt for certain libraries.
I guess you just haven't come across it yet.

 

I haven't come across them because I fixed the issues with my libraries using my method. Take as a grain of salt. Agree to disagree but all my libraries are intact now and future proofed.

Actually I managed to workaround only 1 lib. Maybe I'm still missing something

 

Make sure the snip numbers aren't conflicting. Also best method and ease of use is kontakted. I'll pm you the one that works.

 

Whilst I say don't bother with homemade .nicnt files and just open the library as per usual.

 

Whatever method work to make music tbh. I just like all the colors on the left
