Hello, this is the reason why I joined here. I googled about this several
times from several sites but I coudn't get any help to solve this problem.

The problem began quite recently. I installed "Una Corda" and "The Giant" library and they needed a newer version of the Kontakt 5, so I installed it.

After doing that, Kontakt crashes with Cubase 5 or 7, no matter what the version is.

I tried with lower version of the Kontakt 5, but it didn't work.
I even reinstalled the Cubase and restored the windows 7 by Norton Ghost but also didn't work.

When the problem is worse, whenever I open the Kontakt window, cubase crashes down.
(Cubase 5 just shuts down, Cubase 7 shows a message that an error has occured.)

I read the crash logs but it gave no hint, I coudn't find what causes the problem.

Please someone give me any way out. Thank you.

4 x 4GB Samsung DDR3,
ASUS EAH5670 1GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200 2TB x 4, 3TB x 1

Delete the following files from this folder
C:\Users\ME\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\Db
Factory.kdb.cache
kontaktdb2
kontaktdb2Lock

This is called a Corrupted Database Problem(CDP)

open kontakt and you should be good to go no need for re-installation

That seems to be the whole folder. The db is most likely collecting informations about frequently used kontakt libs. In my test I didn't find a significantly slower speed loading libs in kontakt, if I delete the db/cache.
Would it be a good idea to clean the folder on a regular basis, as it seems that Kontakt runs in this problem regulary as well?

I JUST ran into this problem on the Mac. Maschine, Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol are on the fritz.

 

strange that it says to update to a newer version... the giant is pretty old... i have them both on 5.5.0 workin' with no probs at all... what version did you use to work with before? have you switch from 4 to 5? because in this case you need to clean up all the leftovers and stuff like that (Revo Uninstaller is pretty good at it), do a clean installation and then reload all your libs inside...

Yea. Everything was great then something funky started happening when I updated to Kontakt 5.5.2.
Kontakt kept crashing in Cubase.
I messed with Komplete Kontrol and Maschine 2.4.0 stopped loading Kontakt based Libs.
LOL
I'll clean house and fall back to an earlier version or two. Time wasted there.

Everytime, i update to a new version i clear that folder just so to keep the hassle beforehand

 

@Introninja Well, I did and at the first time it seemed to be worked well, however, the same problem occurs again and the way you taught me doesn't work at all. How can I do?

Hey introninja. Ive been seeing your named all over other posts and they say your pretty good with kontakt issues. Im having an issue i am unable to import libraries into kontakt they just dont show up and the ones that do it says i need to install the library properly please help. Im using mac mojave osx
