Kontakt 5.6.6 and legit Kontakt 5.6.8 running side by side

    Hello folks,
    this is a thread referring to the actual and interesting problems with "Kontakt version 5.6.8".

    I have successfully run the "Audioz" Kontakt version 5.6.6 with all the cr.... libraries I have collected within the last few years.
    But I also bought a lot of legit libraries - and all of these libraries are a mix of both: legit and illegal.

    I also purchased the legit version of Kontakt from NI some weeks ago.

    Today I wanted to add the cr.... library Native Instruments "Thrill" from "Audioz" - but this one seems to be the first library running with Kontakt version 5.6.8.

    How can I run both versions side by side on my computer?
    I mean Kontakt 5.6.6 from "Audioz" and Kontakt 5.6.8 from "R2R" or Kontakt 5.6.6 from "Audioz"
    besides Kontakt 5.6.8 legit ?

    Everytime I want to install the newer version, the installer tries to delete my elder installation.

    How can I run them side by side?

    Rename your .exe and .dll files.

    For example:
    v.5.6.6 (Kontakt 5.6.6.exe/dll)*
    v.5.6.8 (Kontakt 5.6.8.exe/dll)

    * Change this back to "Kontakt 5.exe/dll" after 5.6.8 is installed so that your previously saved projects will recognize it and open correctly.

    So it doesnt matter that the old version is uninstalled??
    ie. only the renamed old exe and dll are left?
    (just went to test now, but renamed the dlls and forgot the exe oops)

    Well, no joy with that - 568 symlink install crashes the DAW I was testing in (Orion). Will try Ableton
    It asks for internet access when starting up 568 each time. I blocked it
    Crashing Ableton also

    I've tried 32 bit and 64 bit. On Win 7
    I guess I'm doing something wrong!
    Strangely, despite using the 568 symlink installer, when I select the 568 plugin in the Daw, it still opens up the old version?

    If anyone could please clarify how to do this, I'd be most grateful. Thanks!
    What I'd love to have is 5.5, 5.6 and 5.6.8 alongside each other as some seem to have done

    Does anyone know if the same procedure also works on Mac? In this case: (Kontakt 5.6.6.dmg - Kontakt 5.6.8.dmg)?

    U can try a wrapper liek VSL-EP or (maybe) DDMF metaplugin. I know that VSL-EP lets u use a different scan path, so u can kinda dual use Kontakt versons. (I've only tried it w/ slave, but it should be the same if ur using master?)
