Solved...Kontakt Libs are fine now by changing the Drive Letter from in the registry to the Drive Letter of my External HD..


Hey Guys, I have Kontakt v5.5.0 and the Issues that Im having is that, 3rd party Library's or even Kontakt Library Wont Stay Loaded in Kontakt Rack.

The Libs are in a External HD,So when I open Kontakt, I again would have to go locate them in my EXHD and load the Libs in Kontakt Rack once again..Though they do load fine once located and the Libs work as well and I can get sound out of them..

This does this in the Standalone as well in the VSTi Plugin.

Its frustrating when you close kontakt and then later on when open Kontakt, the Libs do not load and then once again I have to reload them all over again.

??..Have you guys experience this and if so,what is the work around for a fix..

To prevent that from happening make sure your external drive is connected to your PC before you open kontakt
because if you don't you will have this issue

 

Thx for chiming in,however my EXHD is always connected to PC and started before I start Konkakt

 

You need to relink your libraries & make it permanent.

What u see happens alot if you move say libraries from your internal to external etc.

Use regedit to check where ContentDir registry listed u can change the location there if u confindent of how to do it

If u need manually remove and re add libraries but check your registry & delete the appropriate keys IF necessary.

Also check XML & usual stuff

Also check the huge thread on kontakt problems listed here permanently as that contains many of the answers

example would be say you move from internal

Open regedit find the following key

COMPUTER\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native instruments\Abbey Road 50s Drummer

For whatever library u have installed

default install registry location for ContentDir might normally read

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Abbey Road 50s Drummer Library\

if u moved yours to say external RAM Drive letter Y then this location would be wrong i.e need deleting or changing to new location.

Normally dissapearing libraries something to do with Registry or PList OSX or incorrect XML etc

U can get a lot of info there if u look over the various keys & usually solve a few problems & that. A lot of problems happen when u move the libaries and leave the old registry keys behind. Same goes for updates *yes*
