I heard other people talking about this so wanted to make a thread

Your favourite song. You know it to the bones, every instrument every transitions etc. You get to play it in your car: something is missing. Although some instruments are hard to hear, your brain kinda fills the gaps and you can almost hear the missing sounds/frequencies.
This happened yesterday. I was in the car and I told my friend: "yoh listen to this bass" and he was like "yeah pretty bad" then I realized part of the bass couldn't be heard in the car, but I was still "hearing" it in my brain or something like that I don't know if that makes sense.
This is much more clear with songs you made.

    Makes sense?

I'm with you moosh, sometimes when I listen to choons (not my own) that I've not listened to in ages I find that they are actually not as good as my memory of them is........I think we all fill in the gaps and enhance.........which I guess is part of the listening experience.

Also in another more easy to understand vein, I find lyrics last heard some time ago may well have a different impact when listened to when older and with a different perspective?
